Guard Matt McChesney was signed off the practice squad today and guard Evan Mathis was waived. McChesney was signed to the practice squad on Sept. 24 and began his NFL career as a defensive tackle with the St. Louis Rams. The New York Jets signed him to their practice squad midway through his rookie season and in 2006 he was converted to the offensive line. McChsesney played his college ball at the University of Colorado.

Maybe there's a reason we can't run the ball. We focus on the interior of the defense more often than not on run plays. Mathis must've been sucking it up. Good to see Sparano wants to see what he's got to work with. Hopefully this kid McChesney is decent. We need to pave some DTs backwards.
 
From a sentimental standpoint, I was hoping Matthis would work out - his uncle's Bob Baumhower, one of the legendary "Killer B's". Too bad

I always saw number 73 standing around and kept saying who the heck is Mathis. Guess now I will never know.
 
Mathis is a journeyman...no real loss there.

If I had to state a theory, I would say another team wanted to sign McChesney, and his agent gave Miami the right of first refusal, because they were the team that signed him to the P-squad. We're about to the time where losing teams start to vulture other teams' practice squads for players to get a look at in the next seasons traning camp.

Ya by default because Ndekwu sucks too. Who would've thought during the draft we'd be this upset over Donald Thomas's injury. I didn't have a clue who he was then but I REALLY miss him now.
 
I like the fact that we are bringing in some young guys to look for talent. The bottom of our roster is horribly expendable and I wouldn't be surprised to see more guys cut and others brought in.
 
this means alleman is playing on sunday... he probably wont start, but he'll share snaps with Ndukwe, like mathis has been doing the last two games...
im excited to see alleman..

i dunno why shawn murphy doesn't play, he's the only draft bust we had this year... well drafting 2 Rb's was a busted move... still not as bad as signing wilford..
 
Where'd Alleman come from again? Someone's practice squad? What's his story?
 
thye brought in mathis in passing situations and took out Ndukwe... i never understood the move, mathis got beat very often on pass plays AND run plays
 
just keep bringing in guys, they will find the ones who can play
