McCown Plans on Starting Next Season....

I'm glad McCown thinks hes got what it takes. Thats a good sign, no QB should come in expecting to be the backup.

That being said, I hope Beck out plays him.

I really want Beck to prove he can play. I just saw too many mistakes last year that made me nervous. Not being able hold on to the football is what really concerns me. He had way too many fumbles. Regardless we need to give Beck a shot.

I hope they both can play. I hope we get ourselves in a SD situation where we have two quality QBs and can trade one for several picks.

But honestly, I don't care which outplays the other, so long as we can get some consistent play from them and not have to close our eyes and gasp every time the long ball is thrown.

Sorry about Milan, Bro. I saw that they lost to Arsenal last night. One of my Buddies was going to fly out and watch them if they made it a little further in the Champions League.

About Beck now: I really think that he can get a grip (literally and figuratively) on the fumbling problem. That's something that can be corrected very easily and I think that Sparano and Henning will make sure that he keeps the ball off of the ground if he's going to be the starter. An o-line would also help the fumbling problem out. A couple of those fumbles happened when Beck was blindsided by an end that got by one of our tight ends. I do, however remember a couple of occasions where Beck just had the ball slapped out of his hands, which is something that Henning will most likely address.

you gotta believe that McCown has to feel great about his chances of starting, its not like Beck is a proven Qb.

Know whats funny I think he's not that bad of a starter. in the 31 games he started i believe he had a 38% winning percentage on his garbage teams:oakland & cardinals in the 65 games he wasnt a starter those teams were 21% winning percentage. i read it in the miami herald... interesting stat. Glad he thinks that he can start, casue he has quite a bit and hes not that old & has some talent and size, Competition is good, I hope that Beck can be better and outplay him. but he shouldn't be given the Starters role yet. make him earn it!

Would you happen to have a link for that stat?

Offensive coordinator Dan Henning and quarterbacks coach David Lee told McCown they already have ideas to make him better. ''I plan on being the starter,'' McCown told WQAM.

I have never heard any QB say this about our QB Coaches, and this quote I love. I have always believe if McCown has the right talent around he could be a pretty good QB, but I also want Beck to start. I think we are gonna have a hell of a battle in Training Camp and could quite possibly be a three way dance depending on how The Family feels about our Rookie QB.

lol, yeah that was a tough game but what can you do.

I just remember a couple of occasions were he mishandled the snap and dropped the ball too many times. I hope he can come out and prove he is a worthy starting qb in this league.

you would not want a guy that does not think he can play, if he can great, if not beck better be ready
