McDaniel on the hot seat

You don't know that for sure. There could be a quite a few players who hate him. So that is pure speculation on your part.
Ok fair enough, but there are many more stories and reports about players loving McDaniel and him being a players coach so I will believe those reports over the rumblings of a diva like Ramsey.

I’m not disagreeing that McD has a lot of work to do as a coach I just don’t agree with the statement that players hate playing for McDaniel when there is no proof at all.

I bet a lot of players hate how soft McDaniel is but love the soft practices and club med atmosphere that he provides. Both can be true. So when I say that certain players probably hate playing for McDaniel it means they probably know his style of coaching won't ever get the team to a Super Bowl. Plus the team never looks prepared to play against good teams. That is a direct reflection of his coaching and the players are well aware of that.

Ya but Fangio wasn't here last year and Ramsey still was so there is more to it than that. Ya he might have hated Fangio but he ended up hating McDaniel too. Otherwise he would still be on the team this upcoming season. And as far as what McDaniel has done he still has no playoff wins and is 3-13 against winning teams. Not good at all! Everybody has a hard on for him because of what he has done with the offense but that same offense doesn't show up against good teams. He keeps getting outcoached in those games. The team has been as soft as Charmin since he has been the head coach. He is fools gold!
Ramsey hated Fangio. Holland hated Fangio. New defensive co-ordinator comes in and guess what, after a year with him, Holland is gone and Ramsey will be gone. Poyer is gone, Fuller was cut the first chance they got. They have purposely gotten rid of all 4 starting DB's, I'm guessing because they didn't want them around the young guys.

Remember Grier said this was a "mutual parting" meaning the Dolphins don't want Ramsey either.

You can interpret that as Ramsey hating McDaniel and wanting out, our you could look at the fact the Dolphins have completely cleaned out the DB room and think "maybe these guys are toxic and the coaching staff want nothing to do with them."

As for the team being tough under Flores in 2020 they averaged 3.9ypc while giving up 4.5ypc. In 2021 it was even worse, they rushed for 3.5ypc while giving up 4.4ypc. That's a team that is getting it's ass kicked in the trenches, doesn't seem very tough to me.

That’s also a team that started with little talent who overachieved

Was proud of those teams and how hard they played, you could see it obviously regardless of talent

And guess what? Their secondary will probably be the worst in the NFL this year. So be careful what you wish for. And McDaniel doesn't know the word tough.

So the talent in the secondary is now McDaniel's fault as well?

Also, he went to Yale so I'm pretty sure he knows the word tough.

Then Ross is a clown who shouldn't own a professional sports franchise. Any owner who doesn't care about winning should spend their time and money on something else.
So, how much is your offer sheet for?

I’m assuming you can afford to buy the franchise. Otherwise, you’re merely pissing into the wind.

His team ain't tough at all but keep living in fantasyland! 😆 😆 😆

I disagree with all of this. I bet no one here would call any dolphins player a ***** to their face… 😂
I would say it directly to your ugly face! I bet you make your butt buddy McDaniel look like a super model compared to you! 😂😂

You raise a good point. I'm hopeful that McDaniel changes his practices, as physical practices help makes physical teams. Sieler alluded to Miami changing practices last year when the team went on a nice run. For about a six game stretch we saw fewer mistakes and costly penalties. What changes were actually made isn't clear?

The offseason, including the draft, was all about adding physical players so hopefully the Dolphins can matchup better against teams like Buffalo, Baltimore etc. But ultimately that's on coaches to demand the physicality as well.

I’m not saying the team is tough, I’m saying McDaniel will be aware of the word tough. You said “McDaniel doesn’t know the word tough” but I’m betting he is fully aware that that word is in the English language and I’m also betting he knows what it means.

He doesn't know the word tough when it comes to applying it to his own team.

First, the CBA limits how teams can dictate practice in both pre and regular season.

Second, sudden and increased workloads are the number one cause of soft tissue injuries. A gradual approach should be adhered to in the preseason. And if players are lazy in the offseason, which coaches can’t control and it seems a lot of Dolphins players are, they stand a greater chance of being injured in the preseason.

Third, it’s been reported that during the regular season, McD and his coaches practice up to what the CBA allows in regard to tackling/hitting. They hit and tackle as much as the Steelers, Bills, etc.

At least given the public image that Mike McDaniel projects, I find it difficult to believe that he isn't generally liked by the Dolphins' players.

Just because I'm not a billionaire doesn't change the fact that Ross has not been a successful NFL owner, when it comes to success on the field. So we aren't allowed to criticize the coaches, players or owner when we don't believe they are getting the job done? I guess this site is just here for everyone to agree and praise everything the team does?
