According to Len Pasquarelli's observations of Jags camp...

http://insider.espn.go.com/nfl/trai...ns/story?columnist=pasquarelli_len&id=2538472

The Jags worked during the offseason to improve their line depth, and signed two former first-round picks, Mike Williams and Stockar McDougle. The former was the fourth overall pick in the 2002 draft, by Buffalo, and he had to lose 40 pounds just since the end of the organized team activities before Del Rio would allow him to come to camp. He's got a back problem now, though, and that's ominous. McDougle, a Detroit first-round pick in 2000, might have a better shot. Del Rio mentioned that team doctors discovered McDougle had a blood-sugar level problem. Since he's been on medication, Del Rio said, McDougle has demonstrated a lot more stamina and has been much sharper mentally, too.

I'm guessing they're just grasping at straws here. I would be very surprised if a blood sugar problem explains the kind of mental lapses he had here with us.

I find it hard to think when my blood sugar level feels low

TRUST ME, blood sugar levels are vital to optimal health and well being. My wife, non diabetic, got gestational diabetes during her last pregnancy and she was like a raging mad lunatic, always exhausted, couldn't remember crap, would stutter words, etc. Once diagnosed, she maintained her blood sugar level she was back to normal. It can really throw things off.

I wonder why our team doctors didnt discover that.?

I think this was part of CK's point. If it were true, it would have been painfully obvious while he was here and taken care of. They would have checked blood glucose levels and tested for anemia right off the bat.

Exactly. I bet the doctors just discovered that his blood sugar was slightly low and the dubbed it a "condition" when it really may not have changed much of anything.

It's sort of like, "Hey, this guy keeps getting tired and always seems to be getting mental lapses."

"Well, have you checked his blood sugar level? A blood sugar disorder could do that"

"It's a litte low..."

"Eureka! He has a blood sugar disorder! It all fits so well..."

"He could just be fat and lazy..."

Like the McDonalds commerical said years ago,

"Hey, it could happen!"

But it doesnt matter now anyway, have fun in Jacksonville brother

if this is true, then are the Dolphins team doctors inferior to the Jags?

I guess my question is, why didn't our team doctors discover this?

LOL nice..

It would be kinda cool if physicians and coaches alike were able to me more honest and say soemthing like "We we did some tests and we realize the he has a bad case of the fat an lazies"

Or

"after futher research we realize that we totally wasted a pick on him, becasue he's suffereing from a bad case of unmotivated POS syndrome"

Sure they'd probably lose their jobs but it would be hilarious and may be enough to get some of them motivated.

How on earth does McDougle maintain the Madden rating that he does after being cut by Detroit and Miami?

So by all means, let's give him more sugar! Then watch him crash at about 9:50 of the 2nd quarter.

No in fact

The dolphis doctors have been notorious sticklers, the same ones that red flagged Drew Bree's shoulder right before we pulled out. As I recall they nixed a trade for a lineman a few years back with Atlanta and the OL went on and had issues that same year for the Bucs. (I cant remember his name).

As CK said this is a classic case of reaching, he's just lazy and fat. And it didn't help that he was playing in his hometown when he was with us.

I can think of a half dozen or so ex-players we maybe should've tested, including one recent head coach!
