DAVIE, Fla. -- Miami Dolphins starting left tackle Bryant McKinnie has been one of the more vocal players during the controversial Richie Incognito-Jonathan Martin bullying saga.

McKinnie had another strong opinion on Wednesday: He believes the suspended Incognito would be welcomed back to Miami’s locker room.

“I think he got along with a lot of people in here,” McKinnie explained. “So I don’t think it will be a bad thing if he comes back in the locker room.”

It won’t be that easy for Incognito. Miami’s suspended guard has a grievance hearing on Thursday to determine if he can recoup lost wages. The Dolphins were expected to keep Incognito on suspension for four games before deciding whether to release him or bring him back.

I like Mckinnie a lot. Was skeptical of the trade, but the dude has played relatively well for us and has kept his mouth shut except for appropriate instances like this.

if Incog ends up being guilty of using N-word...then he has kind of already paid his price...dont ya think? Based on Riley Cooper?

Based on Riley Cooper he has paid more than his price

Bryant might welcome Richie back, but it is far more likely that he's not coming back. With all of the media attention there is additional scrutiny on how Miami handles itself. This is not about what Incognito can do to strengthen the O-line, it's about the team visibly demonstrating what behaviors are acceptable and what are not. This will be a decision in which our owner will be accountable and he will use it to make a statement that moving forward the Miami Dolphins is a team of high character. Stephen Ross is a self made billionaire who has progressively learned how to be a good owner by learning from mistakes (it doesn't come with an owner's manual). This decision affects the culture of the organization and having built his business from nothing (he started his career as a tax attorney in Detroit), he understands business culture and the Dolphins are a billion dollar investment. I also understand that he is an observant Jew and embraces high principles. The team will move on without Richie and probably Jonathan, as well.

Again....this is about more then Incognito using the racial slur....it is about work place harassment and in currently under investigation by an independent investigator and the NFLPA...sometimes I wonder if some of you even are really following the story....

Of coarse McKinnie wants him back....so does a large percentage of the team...Incog seemed to get along with most of the players who (in there eyes) believe he hasn't done anything...

This is true. It comes down to Philbin's philosophy.

Some people might not like that but you have to be consistent in what you stand for. Still waiting for more facts....none seem to be forthcoming and players I get the feeling from the Wells interviews are not all that bad and feel that this is indeed overblown Shefter crap with Martin the Violinist as the problem.

Players may go to coach in droves in support of RI. That may be enough for Philbin but that Golf club outing and strip clubs are a bit much I think. Not that half the league doesnt attend these types of environments but if you can't get a girl to take care of you on a reg. basis making 5 mil something is wrong with you.

The court of public opinion has already indicted, tried and convicted the Dolphin organization as being a top-down, massively irresponsible (potentially racist in having created the perfect nurturing area for a bullying sceon?nario.

Before any investigation ever began the national media - being fed the gun powder of emotional thunder spurned by Jonathan Martin's legal team-made it's own statement that on first glance makes the case for the mute victim. Then question becomes how beholden should the Dolphins be to public opinion? Also how does the results of the investigation help swing the story toward one side of this or the other?

The Dolphins also need to consider how the team is doing without certain players in the mix. If we win against the Panthers, then it might be fair to assume that this would only be possible if our O-line plays well. If so do we need Incog? And if we lose then is the season salvageable?
I think we are dangling by a thread and this whole thing gets disintegrated.

He isn't a good player or person, why bring him back? What upside is there?

very good point. this has now grown from an incident between two individuals to repairing the image of a franchise. Whilst, in the short term we may need Richie, I believe Ross will look at this from a long-term point of view.

I really wish Mckinnie would shut up, here's a guy who was in the locker room all of a week before this blew up and he has the most to stay, sometimes its ok to only talk about football....

Using non-hypocritical benchmarks: considering that BSPN quietly fired Hugh Douglas for calling Steven A. Smith an "Uncle Tom and House N..." with no follow up, I'd say based on the workplace use of that prejorative and harassment, when it comes to shooting their load from that "commentary gun", there better be no more bullets..

Cooper is a racist,

Incognito is just a hard drinking, 'roid raging Wildman. :chuckle:
