Is this guy still waiting for a big time contract? My guess is that he plays out his last year with the Phins and moves on because he has not shown he is worth big money. I'm not just listing the drop passes after being able to watch the last game finally but he got BLOWN over by a LB. Are you kidding? He got run over for a big sack on Frerotte. I know our Oline looks bad but they aren't getting much help from this guy. He was consistently pushed back when he stayed in to block. Add the drops and while I like his fire he is not proving to be a big time TE. Real disappointing to me. How can we be dominant up front when you have a center who gets pushed back almost every down and a TE would gets knocked on his backside half the time. That's 1/3 of the line that is pretty useless blocking. Add McDougal who was just painful to watch and I can see why there was one change and possibly more on the way. I know I may get ripped for this but IMO we need to give up the catching ability of McMike to get some much needed blocking. We have WR's and RB's that can make plays BUT if we don't get some blocking soon we may score less than last year. Now I understand why Lee is still around - cause compared to McMike he is a blocking machine.

i dont think it will be a bad idea to trade him, not even because of his recent misgivings.

i think we have too many hands on this team and we dont have the pass blocking or the QB to get them all the ball

trading him for a pick and getting either a lineman or a QB is way of balancing out the offense.

dont count on lee to do anything. if he isnt dropping balls, he'll get callled for holding on 3rd down or pull an untimely false start

Tight ends don't really get bigtinme contracts unless they are carrying their team. I don't doubt that we are gonna try to hold onto him in some way, but if we don't pursue it then some time will grab him quickly.

That aint a lie, we will get a first and third for such a slob, according to Rich22. A first and third! Ya, Randy is a slob alright, in your dreams. You'll excuse Feeley all day long, but got some hell ebnt idea Randy needs to go. Hypocrit.

Well said. I posted a poll on this exact subject earlier. He needs to step up his game.

I was going to rip you, but you made some very good points. Good post. Helping the blocking is far more important for the Phins than another WR who is not able to recieve the ball. He definatley needs to step up for the Phins.

I made mention of this in this thread where I did a blocking breakdown of the Steelers game. I noticed this last year, but was shocked to see him getting owned time after time this game. He didn't seem as into the game as I've seen him before, but I hope the coaches take notice so he can fix that issue.

the problem is he wants Tony Gonzalez money, but he has nowhere NEAR tony gonzalez hands, and he is not the same to our offense as Tony G is to KC.

If he can remedy his catching and fumbling problem, and learn to block, then he is a top 10 TE and should be paid as such. but this regression i've seen this preseason and at the end of last year, he isn't proving he's worth it.

The guy dropped key passes last year in winnable games, then whined about not getting thrown to enough. He has picked up right where he left off in pre-season, missing blocks and allowing pass-rushers to come in unhindered (Rodney Harrison anyone?) and dropping passes.
For this self-proclaimed 'leader of the offense' to carry himself like that (and when was the last time you heard a real leader proclaim his status to the press so much?) would not speak well to the rest of the offense -if he really was the leader
We need to trade him, let some other team take on the 'project' and the off-season problems that have become a pattern

there might be 10 TEs in this league that are playmakers. randy is one of them. you guys need to chill tfo. he had one bad game in the preseason. mc is going to have a probowl season this year in linehan's offense.

What are you babbling about?? Are you hanging out with Moss these days? Where did I say we will trade McMike let alone get a 1st and 3rd. Second - I have never excused Feely - who are you talking about? Let us know when you come back down from the high. Randy has talent and uses it when he wants BUT I don't see him as a blocking force. That I don't see happening any time soon. My point was we need to shore up the blocking and he is part of the problem.

Mc mike has NOT shown the ability to be a consistant reciever or blocker... he is full of potential i agree but his time is up here now and quite honestly i am tired of his friggin mouth .. this guy talks like a probowler but performs like a middle of the road type TE... i have been listening to people talk about randy breaking out for 3 years now and i am sorry but he is not a Saban type.Saban prefers less bravado and more results .. in other words shut up and play. And this "self proclaimed leader of the offense" is only close to the truth because of our lack of a superstar on the offense.I hate to say it but even if he is the leader of this group so what? LOL I think the clock is ticking on randy's tenure here...check back before the deadline for trades and i am betting he will be floated out there...not only will we not pay him anywhere near gozales money i think there will be a huge turnover next season too and saban will be going for draft picks...IMHO randy is only worth a late second early third rounder.

Wow, is this New York. I can't believe I didn't see a "Let's Cut Randy" thread. Everyone loved him last year. Chris Chambers drops passes, Marty Booker drops a lot of passes. I have to say, you fans think Lorenzo Diamond is the Franchise TE, wow, we have to have some weird fans.

If McMike has a big year he could get the franchise tag, so then in theory he would be worth a 1st and 3rd, but wouldn't get that. He's a valuable part of the offense, and is a playmaker on a team with very few.
