McNair talks long and drawn out....

yea i think mncair is cut loose from tennesse. Im not interested in no quarterback other than mcnair, schaub in FA's and in the draft young cutler shockley or vick

I guess I wouldn't mind picking him up as a free agent, but is he much better than Frerotte at this point? Doubtful. If we sign Mcnair it does not change our need to draft a qb.

I agree 100% that we still need a good yound QB, but to say McNair isnt an upgrade at the moment is laughable. I will get some stats right now...

Yards: 2996
Comp.%: 52.0
YPA: 6.06
QB Rat: 71.9
TD: 18
INT: 13

McNair (Started 14 games)
Yards: 3161 (more in 1 less game)
61.3% (almost 10 full % points)
YPA: 6.64 (over half a yard better)
QB Rat: 82.4 (over 10 points better)
TD: 16 (2 less TDs, but played in one less game)
INT: 11 (2 less INTs, but also played in one less game)

For all the injury talk, McNair started 14 games and clearly out performed Gus with a less talented team with no running game.

Shockley and Vick will NEVER be starting QB's in the NFL.

Actually with those stats I would rather have a qb who we could depend on for most of the games and who has been in the system for a year already. Plus the fact that gus should be cheaper. Thanks for shedding light on the subject.
 
put a squad around mcnair and he'll look like joe montana compared to gus....
and when i say joe montana, i mean a older crippled almost wheelchair bound joe... but joking aside, i really think that mcnair could do a pretty good job... im not saying great or anything, but i think he's an improvement, if we protect him and can keep him healthy, i believe he would turn some heads and make some believers, all the mean while getting a QB ready to come in and take over....

It isxnt even close. McNair tops Gus by FAR and only started one less game.

It doesnt change the need to draft a QB BUUUTT he is an improvement over Gus. Significant Improvement!!!
