Looks like Steve McNair is going to be released soon...Do you think the Fins might be interested and do you think he'll sign for about the same as Harrington ?? Personally, I like this possibility rather than Harrington, but would McNair be happy as a backup for us ?? Just a thought...here is link....

There is no way he will accept a backup role.

Besides, the Harrington deal is just about done, the Fins and Lions have to accept compensation.

As a backup I wouldn't mind, I just read on NFL.com that they banned him from their trainning site.. Sad way to treat your star QB.

There is no way McNair ends up in Miami. He would want to much money and he still wants to be a starter. He would go to a team where he would know that he would start.:shakeno:

Agreed

A one year deal would be a perfect fit. Let Culpepper take half the season to heal and use McNair to drive the car in the mean time.

That would be nice. Of course you don't want durability to be a concern for your Back Up QB, but it would be worth the risk to me. Especially if you're talking about paying Joey Harrington 2 Mil a year anyway.

He will cost too much $$$$, and he won't be happy as a back up.

ARE YOU PEOPLE CRAZY?? Who in their right mind would want Harrington over McNair as a back-up?? No draft choice compensation...more money, yes, but NO INTERCEPTIONS. Seriously, who would you trust playing the first few games of the season if Culpepper's not ready????

the guy still considers himself a legit starter, he wouldnt take the back up role, and he is gonna want some money. i say stick with harrington

You're probably right about the backup role, but didn't he restructure with Tenn for about $2 mil ?? I don't see him wanting a backup role, but there aren't too many teams (Jests) that would give him the starter job right now ??

How do you know how much money McNair'd want, are you his accountant? You're living in fantasy land. Harrington got run out of Detroit, has no confidence, chucks interceptions constantly, doesn't study playbooks and doesn't stand up to teammates, who badmouth him in the press. He is NOT the guy you want to steady a rocking ship.
