Mediocre reserves prove value of Dolphins' Brown

good read man. Ronnie was a beast this season but our poor passing game made him attempt a tackle causing his knee injury. its a shame.

Thanks for the article, Ronnie is the man, and is our #1 back. Bout time people start realizing it and giving him some kudos.

I'm surprised that the Jesse Chatman supporters haven't come out of the woodwork yet.

Especially the ones who thought he was better than Ronnie back in training camp.

Like Chatman or not, it's not going to matter. He's as good as gone. Cam brought him over because of his SD connection, but either he'll decide to leave or Bill will show him the door, because he's not what they are going to want to back up Ronnie. Not sure how Booker will fit into the scheme, but I'm guessing they'll use a mid-round pick to grab a diamond in the rough to become RB's back-up and possibly eventual replacement if/when Ronnie ever leaves.

I remember the "Chatman is better than Ronnie" debates after ronnie went down with the injury. Yeh, that turned out well didnt it? Chatman is pretty average, and can't be a starter in this league. The guy needs to be a backup and be a backup of a guy that isn't injured and can't play.

I like Chatman. He is an inferior player to Ronnie and it is silly for anyone to argue otherwise....but his effort was always superb, he always ran hard.

As much as people shouldn't put him on Ronnie's level, they shouldn't bash him either.

I like Chatman as well, but at one point Ronnie Brown was the only thing to looks forward to in a Dolphins game this year. He was awesome and the more I watched other backs the more I realized it. I sincerely hope he comes back 100% from the torn ACL.

In fairness to those who questioned Ronnie this was his breakout year. Up until this year he has been solid but not special. This year he was a star and actually looked like an overall #2 pick. He had a great start to the year and I hope he heals up well so he can get back to making plays for us again.

Ronnie was headed straight toward the Pro Bowl, Ive always loved the Ronnie doubters they are alot like the Ginn doubters these days.

I beleive Parcells has already looked into bringing Chatman back already. I love Brown as a person and he is talented but I would consider trading him if we could for a 1st round pick this year and go with McFadden instead. Why because Ronnie get nicked or hurt to much. Even with keeping Ronnie I would still consider drafting Mcfadden as the 2 of them in the same backfield would really help us at this point. First a running game with those 2 would help rest the defense which will be thin and rebuilding next year plus it would take a lot of pressure off of someone like Beck in the QB position. I know its alot of money in the RB position but if McFadden is the best player in the draft and being in the position we are in then it could make sense. Plus I beleive it could keep Ronnie healthly all year and enhance his trade value more next year.

My colleague Anthony Bialy wrote an interesting piece on how Miami's reserve running backs paled in comparison to Ronnie Brown's production. Those of you who are big Jesse Chatman proponents probably won't like it, but it's definitely worth a read:

you mean to tell me you dont like Chatmans vaunted, "spin" technique, or whatever you wanna call that thing he does

I thought Chatman was soft. He was the only running back in the league that I saw being armed tackled with 1 arm and being thrown backwards. He never seemed to fall forward...never.

Chatman was awesome running the ball, but horrible at being a receiver
