Top needs: RT, G, S, CB

Round 1 (19) S Calvin Pryor, Louisville
Round 2 (50) OT Joel Bitonio, Nevada
Round 3 (81) OT Jack Mewhort, Ohio St.

Analysis: Needs along the offensive line get skipped in Round 1 mainly because the board doesn't offer enough value at those positions in this slot. When Zack Martin went off the board at No. 17, it limited any possibility to go O-line here. Pryor is an impact player coming off a dominant season and can fill a need at safety. In Round 2 I go with Bitonio, a versatile offensive line prospect who can play either guard or tackle. Same with Mewhort in Round 3. I'd like to consider a cornerback in Round 3, but the issues on the line are more pressing. It's both a protection issue and about creating some running lanes. As it's currently constructed, I don't know if the line will be able to do either consistently, but this draft should help.

I'd love me some Pryor.

I think Mel is off with a Safety as the first pick, but as a strategy going for a LB or TE at 19 and then coming back in the next two rounds and snagging offensive linemen in the 2nd and 3rd IS a possible scenario for the team.

I like Kelvin Benjamin

Me too...I would love to see us trade back 5 to 10 spots and pick Benjamin. Either that or trade up from our second round pick if he makes it to day two.

a S in round 1 would be a horrific move

If all oline possibilities with 1st round value are gone by 19 well im praying Ebron slides to us!

I think we definitely need a LB in the first 3 rounds. Either a OLB or MLB that fits in our scheme, depending on which offers more value at the time, since it seems we have the option of moving Ellerbe to OLB. My question is, is Ellerbe at OLB an upgrade over broken Wheeler?

How about OT/OG Zack Martin in the 1st, MLB Chris Borland in the 2nd, and OT Mewhort in the 3rd?

If the legit 1st rd olineman are gone, ebron, mosley, barr, evans, or trade back and take benjamin or a 2nd tier olineman.

If he is available in the 2nd round. The current projection he will go around the turn of first and 2nd round. I don't see him dropping to the lower half of 2nd round.

:lol:Who the hell is Mel Kiper and why did he take issue with the Colts taking Trev Alberts with the 2nd pick in the 1994 draft?
