Every time I went to a game out here in CA, 2004 in sf and 2005 in Oak, Sam was the nicest guy on the sidelines. He would come say hi, talk a little bit take pictures etc. Of course it's upsetting to hear him talk about the organization this way, but look at our pass defense since 2004. 2004 we were near the top of the league, 2005 we lost pat and we were about middle of the pack. Now our pass defense is pathetic. I would gladly take Sam over andre goodman, will allen, lehan, etc. What we have now back there is garbage. The only two in the secondary I actually like are Travis and Yeremiah Bell. How many passing TDs have we give up?? Ask yourself that. I understand Sam's frustration being traded because of money, and now this year out of five phases of the game WE ARE ONLY GOOD AT ONE OF THEM. We can't run the ball. We can't pass the ball. We can't play special teams for the most part. Mare sucks, our returns suck, etc. We can't stop the pass. All we can do is stop the run. Maybe Sam was treated unfairly by the organization, you don't know what goes on behind closed doors. I'll tell you this, I felt much more comfortable with the pass defense last year than this year. Don't insult a man who did alot for our organization. Him and pat were a cornerstone of our team for years. I love them both and you should too.

It's just the same old same old, fans looking for someplace to vent their frustration and what better place than a player that is no longer with the team. I wouldn't read much into it.

its ****** up, sam was is of my favorite players, i still rock his jersey.....

Sam Madison seemed like a good guy to me. He was a hell of a player and he still is obviously with the Giants. Some people said he "lost a step" in speed in 2005. I didn't think so. I think it was a business decision to leave because of contract negotiations and salary cap, etc. This happens all the time in the NFL with veterans. Look at all the veterans the Patriots didn't keep on the team because of contract issues.

I remember him saying after he left that he would still be a big Dolphins fan and he'd probably move back to Florida when he retired and be a big supporter of the team. He said he'd be up in the stands cheering for the young guys he played with still on the team once he's out of football. We could use guys like him in the Dolphins family ... kind of like Marino is. He could go to award shows, talk to media people at games, and maybe be a regular guest on the local sports radio stations in Miami and all that.

The last thing I want to hear is anyone bash Madison. He brought success to his team.

How many players have brought us success at all first of all. Chambers, Mcmichael, Daunte, Joey, Ronnie Brown, Booker? Any of those players brought
any success at all?

Please, Sam Madison went up there and played the best he has played in a while. Its true that losing is contagious, it makes you as big of a loser as your team is. Madison had his downfalls with us during the end of his tenure here in south florida but he has been one of our best players back there. Many guys were brought up to take his job but none dominated their spot for years.

Sam went up there in New York and is playing with a team that is likely going to make the championship game or perhaps the superbowl. I am very angry at the front office for booting this guy out and having no one to replace him and that is why I hate the way we have deal with everything. Saban can't even make his mind about his offensive line and he can't even get this team off his feet. Sam Madison is probably glad that he isn't part of this franchise for sure.

Allen has been easily as good, if not better, than Madison had been in more recent years for us.

i also hope that fans can show a little class he was a good guy and him and terrell buckley were a great tandom and sam and patrick surtain were a good combo as well . i wish him luck even though he is playing for a arch rivial. I am worried about the moral of the players because of all the venom from media and fans.

You'll NEVER hear me say a bad thing about Sam.

He's one of my all time favorite players AND the BEST corner in the history of the franchise.

I'd say Surtain was better, even if only by a shade.

Yeah, the greatness he eminated was just on another level. All thos pass interference calls in big spots. I thought it was especially memorable when Moss put him in the burn unit in that crucial loss to Minnesota that cost us the playoffs a few years ago, among other occasions where he couldn't cover a gnat when we really needed him to. So don't criticaize the great Sam Madison everyone. Because when the money was on the line, he brought us about as much success as Jerry Wilson ever did. So please, don't say anything bad about him.

Surtain was great when he was in his prime there is no doubt about that. When he parted ways with the phins there was no hard feeling what so ever and i'd wish him luck with any team that he plays with.

I have been one of the staunchest supporters of Madison on this board for as long as I can remember. He showed nothing but class his entire time here. He took pay cuts for the betterment of the TEAM, and he even admitted he would willingly take a diminished role on the defense (i.e. nickleback) if it was in the best interest of the TEAM. He also had a very big heart, and contributed immensely to the community. That speaks volumes to his character as a human being. He was a phenomenal player, person and a class act. He didn't deserve to be treated like yesterday's trash. I wish him the best, and it stinks to see him in a Giants uniform.

Its a shame that Madison does not apparently feel the same way as Surtain when he was released. Sounds like a sensitive ego with Sam. Sam had outstanding athleticism in coverage at his best moments and no one can take away from him as an excellent athlete. But his style did not fit what Saban wanted out of the cb position and face it the dude just did not get it done in run support especially in his last year. He is where he is wanted and good luck to him with the G-men. He just was not meant to be in Miami for the rest of his career.

Before the playoffs when Ty Law raped the Colts corners every play a few years ago Sam Madison's technique was absoltely perfect. He was the most dominant corner in the game. That was what he was good at, press coverage with alot of contact.

Then the offensive minded NFL decided that defense shouldn't win anymore and decided to change the game of defense. Basically they pulled the rug out from under Sam.

The reason he wasn't as good in his last few years and the excessive penalties was the rule changes.

Sam Madison never fell off or lost his ability, his technique was made illegal. They did the equivalent of telling Peyton Manning that reading the defense pre play was illegal. If you take away a players only strong point then they no longer are that good.

Sam Madison was the best cornerback we had ever had prior to rule changes. Respect what he did, he was the Zach Thomas of the backfield for years.

People are so silly here, give Madison his credit; he did what he was ask to here, he just started to get a little aged. For all that dont know you don't play the same ur whole career, u get slower, ur vision isnt as good, ur not as quick.
So what if the guy didn't finish his career here in Miami. Put ur self in his shoes, if you can open up to that; you dont want to be in a place u dont feel welcome either, so let's move on.
