here are some guys i would consider at #32 since we signed Jake Long OT Michigan today:

James Hardy WR Indiana
Quentin Groves OLB/DE Auburn (would play OLB)
Antoine Cason CB Arizona
Tracy Porter CB Indiana
Aqib Talib CB Kansas
Dan Connor ILB Penn St
Dre Moore DT/DE (would play DE)
Malcolm Kelly WR Oklahoma

or if someone else falls. that is who i am looking at for the #32 pick

who next @ 32?

with the jake long signing who will be next @ 32? Cason? Groves? Henne? what becomes our biggest need also dont be shocked if b.p and company draft another olineman early in draft i for one am hoping cherilus is there @ 32 and we pick him this gives us a nastyyyyyy youngggg oline for years to come. bring on all comments

My favorate choices for the pick are Groves, Cason, and Connor. I wouldn't be suprised if we go WR though after recent comment about looking for a #1 WR through the draft. I just hope we don't spend the pick on a QB. I just don't think the talent is there.

Parcell's will go Defense at #32, and i think he likes Quentin Groves because of his size and ability. His heart issue may get the tuna to second guess on him but ultimately will be the pick (if he's available).

I would like Groves to be the pick with 2a. His heart problem should be an issue as long as he keeps up with his pills and making sure he has regular check-ups with the Doc. He's got lots of upside and he was very good in a tough SEC.

for me it has to be Cason, then they could go DE/OLB with 2b and OG with 3. We "HAVE" to pick up an OG and another OT at some point in the draft. We also have to address the poor CB play.

Dre Moore? Malcolm Kelly?

Dre Moore is a 3rd-4th round pick. Hes an athletic freak but doesnt have much else going for him.

Malcolm Kelly has watched his stock drop like a complete rock since he ran slow, complained a lot, and has bad knees. I wouldnt be surprised to see someone take a Dwayne Jarret type pick on him, based on his college success and potential due to size/hands, but I also wouldn't be surprised to see a similar result

I just don't understand the love for Groves at 32. Assuming we keep Taylor ( and I think we do) then we have him, Porter, Moses (who B.P. is said to love), and Courtney Anderson. We need to draft one, just not that early.

Now everyone knows that I covet Cason and Lofton, but here is the million dollar question, is it possible to get both of them? Yes, but it is tricky. This is the main reason for the delay of my latest mock, I had Cason at 32 and Lofton at 57, but I think those may be switched. Seems Lofton will be the hotter item come Saturday. I think it depends on where Meyo and Connor are taken. If both are gone after the Giants pick, then I think we go with Lofton.

At the same time, since Cason is not a workout stud, you have seen him slip a little in most projections (Kiper having him at 59 now). I think with most of the so called elite cornerbacks slipping (DRC, Jenkins, Talib, and McKlevin) then we might be able to hold off on Cason until 57. Long, Lofton, Cason . . . that is just a freaking unbelievable first day.

For those who want that OLB, well I think Cliff Avril slips there and you can pick him at 64. This is not my favorite pick since he won't be a starter right away, but he is a DE moving to OLB and it takes a couple of years for the transition to take place. Suddenly you have Moses and Avril poised to take over for Taylor and Porter in two or three years.

That leads to one of my favorite prospects in the whole draft in the fourth with Roy Schuening the G from Oregon State setting pretty, ready to complete our line.

Haha, just realized I pretty much mocked the other top picks, sorry guys.

Groves 1st choice
Cason 2nd choice

but getting the OLB pass rusher will be a priority for us now and we may have to move up to get a quality one.

im hoping we get groves, before he got hurt this season he was a sure 1st round pick so itd be a steal IMO if we get him at the top of the second.

What are his heart issues that a few of you have mentioned i havent heard of anything

Groves 1st choice
Cason 2nd choice

I agree with that:

1) Groves- grabbing a speedy OLB is def. priority #1 after Long was signed.
2) Cason- I've always liked him and we really do need a CB to help this D.
3) Dan Connor- I just like the guy, he's not anything extremely special, he just does everything good, better prospect than Poz last year and I really believe Poz would have been in contention for D Rookie of the Year if he hadn't broken his arm.

i dont think it is #1. it is up there but i think CB is #1 but groves could be the pick.

Can someone explain to me why everyone is wanting to get an OLB so urgently. As mentioned above we have Taylor, Porter, Moses, and Anderson that would be more than good for a couple of years (assuming Taylor is not traded, in which case this point is invalid). All this while at ILB we have Channing Crowder and Reggie Torbor and at CB we have Will Allen (pretty good) and Michael Lehan. I just see those two positions as bigger immediate needs.

It is just that first at one and now at thirty-two, I just don't see the urgency at 32 (most especially if Groves is gone).
