Im not bashing Speilman here.....but the one move we should have made and didn't, signing Pete Kendall. Rick offered him a 1 year deal when all he wanted was a 2 year deal, which is what he got in NY.

Jets sign Kendall and he makes their o-line stronger, and Curtis Martin comes back for the dead and rushes for almost 200 yards on opening day. Im not saying this move is the reason why Martin went crazy yesterday, but if you think Kendall isn't a big reason why, then your nuts.

That is the move we should have made. He would have been a huge upgrade over Taylor Whitley and would have made this team much better.

ahah... right b4 i clicked the link for the thread, my fingers were ready to type kendall...

There are quite a few O line moves Rick should have made and didn't. It's the one area he's really failed at in this offseason.

You are right. I didn't see this move not getting done, and the Jets O-Line was dominant for the most part yesterday, though Cincy did get some pressure on Pennington. I don't think the team was prepared to cut Whitley, Jerman, Hadnot. Becuase if we got him, more then likely at one of their expenses. We have a younger line. We don't have a bad line, we have an inexperienced line, for the most part. PS, anyone see the little move Jeno James made to recover Fiedler's fumble, that was quite slick, if he meant to do that. We don't need to be losing Jeno James to a fumble though, he got piled on.

Groan I guess getting 85% of your personell decisions right doesn't cut it for Dolphins fans.

snapshot... you are dead wrong... tait's hick wife felt more comfortable where he went... and they were not going to overpay for woody... kendall was a relatively easy pickup, and an obvious upgrade...

No, I never said I didn't like the job Spielman was doing, I simply said it was the ONE AREA where he had failed. Just because I acknowledge that the job he's done wasn't perfect doesn't mean I think he's a bad GM.

WTF are you talking about I was "dead wrong?" I never mentioned Tait and I agree we should have brought in Kendall. Did you even READ what I actually wrote?

I did that's why I went groan. Ok lay out your O-line masterpiece please. Include projected cap hit and length of contracts. Also leave in the cap space we'd have for the next six years based on your O-line projections.

your a dum@ss man... what o-line moves are u referring to then? I just assumed that those were it because those are the notable "failed" acquistions if u want to call them that... uphold ur statement with some evidence then and maybe ill agree with u...

STAFF EDIT: No personal insults allowed. First Warning.

If you can do that dude your a guru!

I think our problems on the OL are at OT more than OG. People don't want to admit it, but Wade Smith might be the worst starting LT in the league right now, bar none. He was probably the worst starting LT last year, and he is again this year. The coaches have forgotten that your BEST offensive lineman has to play LT.

No way I can, that's the point. You need an entire staff of people to get a free-agent to sign. And teams are in different positions as well, plus maybe something about Kendall just rubbed Rick the wrong way. Who knows?? But to come out and claim you could have done a better job without seeing the results of the original job done, that's weak.
