[MERGED] 25 million dollars for Smiley!?

Anyone else wonder why a Jets fan would be on a Dolphins site? I for one, wouldn't degrade myself enough to post on a site for any team in the AFC East but our beloved Dolphins....show the love :kick:

Public forum, fans post on their rivals websites for info. Next..

It's a good addition. We're talking about a legit starting caliber guard here. On a team that featured Frank Gore, adding one of those lineman can only be a good thing...

According to Football Outsiders, Runs to the right of Smiley were 4.6 YPC, ranking best on the team. This stat ranked him as the 9th best Right Guard in the NFL. It gets a little better because the 49ers ran to this hole alot (16%)... and so teams expected this and he still was effective.
*******
Hadnot by comparison ranked #24 with 3.84 YPC, with 9% through his hole. This looks to be a signifigant upgrade. If you can change those third-and-3's to third-and-1's... it's going to help.

Good Signing here is what ESPN's Scouts Insider said about him:

2007 Scouting Report - Scouts Inc.
Grade: 65 | Key
Alert: None

Comment: Smiley is well-built, athletic and instinctive. He has good upside. He moves very well over short areas. He has good initial quickness. He pulls and traps effectively. He is quick into the hole and adjusts very well on the move. He is aware, alert and takes solid angles. He shows a solid feel for pass protection. He senses twists and stunts, and he can pass off and recover. He is a technically sound player who rarely gets out of position. He plays with good leverage, quick hands and very good hand placement. But Smiley lacks functional power. He gets overmatched in too many one-on-one matchups against bulky or strong defenders. He sometimes loses his power angles on down blocks. He doesn't play with great balance and winds up on the ground too often.

thats not from 07. Smiley didn't look that great before his injury.

This makes zero sense. Hadnot was injury free and was a nasty, Parcells-type player. And David Kirkus? Yeah, I live in Detroit, and this guy is a clown. 0-2 so far.
