that would be awsome i would love to have him for a 7th or Possibly nothing i think if JT was on the Other side of the line he would be good

they are paying him first round money... and he just a back up.. i believe... they like chris canty better...

carpenter isnt making it in the nfl... hes overrated..hes a special teamer for the 'girls

Isn't Canty a Free Agent this offseason? If so either him or Spears would be a good fit.

checked it out.. he is the starter but ... hes really not anything special... bobby carpenter on the other hand i will love to have him if we can get him for cheap... hes pretty good but he hasnt had a chance to start because of all the LB in dallas

Rumors are that the cowboys are shopping both of them and they could be had pretty cheap... they will take anything for SPEARS and BOBBY CARPENTER COULD BE HAD FOR A 4TH or maybe less... I also read that in the article that CARPENTER IS NOT A 3-4 LB? I wonder why hes like 6'2 250... those measurables seem like a 3-4 LB to me . What do you guys think?

First of all I think that since it's a fan blog what they think about those players' worth has absolutely no bearing on what Jones might think. I don't follow the Cowboys but I Know that Spears is listed as a starter on their depth chart. According to the NFL website the guy started all 16 games last year. As for Carpenter, maybe he's slow. In any event if he doesn't fit onto a 3-4, I doubt we would look at him.

I would not touch them with 7th rd pick this season (Well..maybe Spears).

We trade for them we take a nice tastee bite of two 1st rd pick contracts...Spears in 2005, Carpenter in 06, and here is where our 1-15 record may have some use.

"if" they are cut, we get first dibs on claiming them and the Cowboys have to eat the contracts....

this makes a trade up by Dallas a little more possible..Picks and players for the #1..

I have never been sure about Carpenter. Being an OSU fan I always remember wondering if he would have been any good without AJ Hawk right next to him. For a 4th though I'd say go for it. Then we could steal Hawk away from the Packers, then draft Lauranaitis....Ok maybe getting a little carried away.

Y'know what? I hadn't thought about the waiver system. But yeah, no kidding we do get the right of first refusal for every player going on the waiver wire.
We'll most likely end up with a quality player or 2 this way.

u can bet Parcells iwll be on this. he drafted both and actually wanted spears before ware but jones came in and made the decision on ware before spears.

DOnt be surprised to see spears and carpenter here somehow. (oo ya rem that carpenter has a sort of history to Bill in a way) I think his dad played for someone or somethign along those typical lines.
