Ramsey an option?

to take a break from the fin loving that has been going on here for the past 24 hours, it appears that Patrick Ramsey has asked the Redskins to trade him. I guess he was even cleared to play after that blow he took on sunday but Gibbs kept Brunell in and will start Brunell in week 2.

With Jason Campbell being drafted, Ramsey doesn't feel he fits in in Washington. Anyone think he would be an uprgrade to either Rosenfels or Feeley? He could back up the rest of this year and come into camp with a legit shot of starting, imo. I imagine Baltimore and Chicago may take a stab at him as well, but Ramsey is intruiging to me.

I tell you one thing, he beats Couch, Davey, Mauck and the other names that have been bandied around here. If we could package Feeley and either another cheap player or lower draft pick, do you do it?

Trade for Patrick Ramsey?

ESPN just reported Patrick Ramsey has asked to be traded after being demoted. Do we look into this?

Uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh did you watch him play this past Sunday? If you had, you wouldn't be wasting time with making this thread.

Hell No!

Ramsey sucks and i want a QB that is actually a good NFL QB. I would perfer Gus over him anyday.

I think we'll stay with Gus for a while.

I meant as more of a long term plan. The QB class in the draft isn't deep and Gus is a little long in the tooth. Feeley obviously isn't a long term or short term solution. Sage is iffy with me.

You are saying you wouldn't take Ramsey as a backup over Rosenfels or Feeley?

I live in dc...let me tell you about patrick ramsey

he takes WAY too long to decide where to go with the ball, and when he does, he has a slow release...the 'skins offensive line is respectable, but they can't hold the line forever.

add that to his immobility, and you know the reason he gets injured every year.

the dude gets rocked every week, but I'm actually surprised he was still concious after the clothesline sack he took on sunday.

Yes, he has an arm, but something just isn't right with him.

Feeley sucks more than Ramsey. I'd rather have Ramsey than Feeley. But I wouldn't trade anyone but Feeley. At least Ramsey has more TD passes than INT's.

Hrm.. Gus seemed to work out this week, Lets stick with him for at least a little while..

that doktor ivel said he would go to the probowl this year

Lets stick with Gus... Draft a QB next year

Nobody is saying to displace Gus. Geez, read the threads people. I said as a BACKUP. The draft is not full of great prospects for QB's. Matt Leinart and very litle else. Omar Jacobs you may be able to put in that category. Chris Leak, and Vince Young are below them and would need a lot of work on their delivery, mechanics etc.

Ramsey would allow us to have a first round talent with playing experience. If he came with a cheap trading tag, I would definately od it and have him sit, learn the playbook and backup Gus. All of this with the understanding that next year, he would have every opportunity to take over if he earns it.
