Merged 3x: Is Dorsey damaged goods? / Doctor concerned about health

The major concern reportedly was stress fracture in his right tibia Dorsey suffered during the 2006 season. That reportedly botrhered him throughout his junior season and helped him decide to come back for his senior year. He had a knee problem during that chamnpionship senior season.

"I donlt know where that stuff gets started," Dorsey said of injury reports, some of which had him not bothering to show up at all. "I played a whole year with it [the stress fracture] and I never missed a game in college. Who doesnlt get hurt some during a season?"

Dang I never realized how torn up this kid is already. Though he would definitely fit in Miami, since we are ALWAYS picking up the injured players...

I think that unless something takes shape with McFadden......either one of the Longs is the safe pick here.I'd be happy with either of them, and both are as close to a "can't miss" pick as any.Wow....this is really getting to be fun again!

No way in heck they take him now, not that they were going to or even thinking about it as I dont think its a good fit for them. But I agree with most, UNLESS they can finagle a trade down, either Long and Ill be happy. BOTH would be pay immediate divedends on play 1, whether it be for Ronnie and co. or bringing youth on the Dline. The ONLY worry I have about C Long, is that he fits the bill being a similar version of Matt Roth, smallish, fast, energetic, but undersized, which is obv not worthy of a 1st pick let alone 1st round.

I want us to draft of these 3 players...

  • Jake Long
  • Vernon Gholston
  • Chris Long

Dorsey's stock tumbling?

As many of you know, Glenn Dorsey did not participate in the NFL combine workouts. Initially, his sudden departure was attributed to the death of his grandmother, but the USA Today and other sources are saying that it had more to do with a chronic knee/tibia injury that has lingered on for a long time and might never truly heal:

Would it be safe to say that these question marks regarding his health and durability will drop him out of the running for the first pick overall?

If I had to put money on it, Miami has narrowed down their options to either Chris Long (at 3-4 pass-rushing linebacker) or Jake Long.

What do you all think?

Sedrick Is A Top Flight DT

I agree with you in a sense this is such a huge investment that you just can't take the chance if he has any type of chronic injury concerns. I like Dorsey but I'd have to maybe include Sedrick Ellis with the Long's in that equation of who the Phins are looking at early in the combine process.

Dorsey is falling. Teams are concerned with his legs.

IMO He gets drated by the Bengals.

Warren Sapp Again??

Or let's play devil's advocate, let's say DORSEY falls and gets picked in the teens of the 1st round, and there's NOTHING wrong with him. Reminds me of a WARREN SAPP debacle(Marijuanna??) on draft day how he fell on the lap of the BUCS. Dorsey could fall to some team and make them VERY VERY happy!

Knowing our luck the Pats would make him there new DE. haha:woot:

These new injury concerns are dropping Dorsey's stock like a rock. It's going to be either Chris Long or Vernon Gholston. Preferably, Chris Long.
