Panthers | Preseason opponents set
Wed, 29 Mar 2006 05:11:21 -0800
<A href="http://www.kffl.com/link/128">Pat Yasinskas, of the Charlotte Observer, reports the Carolina Panthers will open the preseason the weekend of Aug. 11-12 at home with the Buffalo Bills, and go to Jacksonville the second week. The Panthers will host the Miami Dolphins in a Thursday night (Aug. 24) game on FOX. The final exhibition will be at Pittsburgh, likely Aug. 30 or 31.

So the dress rehearsal will be nationally televised.

Pieceing together the preseason schedule it should be:

Week 1: JAX at home
Week 2: at TB
Week 3: at CAR
Week 4: STL at home

That is a pretty stout preseason schedule. I like it. All of these teams should bring good challenges to guage the talent and development of our young players.

Awesome!! For those of us outside the Miami area, this means we actually get to see a pre-season game live!!

we always play against tampa and jax in preseason:( its like if they were in our preseason division

i think ill go to the tampa one, i usually dont go to preseason games (long drive, and its usually on a friday in miami)

Well that sucks. The 2 games when the starters actually play will be on the road.

Oh man I'm stoked, I have been waiting for 10 years for Miami to play at Carolina. I live in Boone, so its only an hour and a half away.

I will definately have tickets.

so miami pather game is live but doenst it ssay we'lll host pittsy on aug 30? or am i reading wrong?

What is really great about this is that the 3rd game of the exhibition season is always the game that is most like the regular season. Teams generally play their starters most of the 1st half - some into the 3rd quarter. Of all the exhibition games to watch, that is the most entertaining. The rest of the games are pretty worthless.

However, this preseason is likely to lack any tell-tale signs of what the offense will be like this year - since Culpepper is not likely to be ready or to get any PT. Despite his progress, I doubt he'll be ready even for the start of the season. I hope I'm wrong. But, it would be close to miraculous for him to be able to go full speed by then. Even at the QB position.

Nevertheless, it's very cool that this game will be televised.

:woot:

I'm definitely going to the Panthers game.

i live in maryland but once it's official if i can get off work i would most def. like to ride down to carolina and get ticks' for that game. it's been two years since i seen the fins play the ravens. that'd be almost perfect.
