Antonio Gates will seek out Saban on Sunday...

To thank him..

The last time Antonio Gates spoke to Nick Saban was to say goodbye.

Gates said yesterday he will seek out Saban, now the Miami Dolphins' head coach, on Sunday at Qualcomm Stadium.

And he will likely thank him.

It took Gates a few years, but he began to see that Saban was simply one of the first to know what Gates could be.

Antonio Gates.... that man is a class act!
 
I feel so much more confident in our evaluation of talent and drating abilities than I ever had another any previous regime. Saban knows his $hit!
 
Good to see a different light on Gates from the "guy that held out" persona.
 
WOW! Where are all the Saban doubters now? That was an amazing article on our coach's ability to recruit/see talent where others do not. I mean, can you imagine Gates not playing college football somewhere now that he is so dominating?
 
Just think if Saban was our Coach 3 years ago. We could have drafted Gates in the 7th round.

How sweet would that have been with McMike and Gates as our TEs. Not enough footballs to go around, probably. The nice thing about Gates is that he can be split out against a CB who has no chance in tackling him 1 on 1.
 
Imagine what would've happened if Saban had been our coach earlier. Gates+McMike= mad TE combo to add with our mad RB combo in Ronnie+Ricky.

If Saban had been coach earlier we wouldn't have been in a position to draft Ronnie Brown, because we would have been in the playoffs and maybe the Super Bowl in the last few years....Thanks Wanny!
Hmm so using reverse psychology maybe we should thank Wanny for us getting Brown?...Umm NO I don't think so!;)
