Teams wanting to get Ricky Williams may not yet have caught on that a big free agent Running Back is about to leave his team and become the biggest fish in the free agent pool.

With Head Coaches thinking about giving up thier first round pick for Miamis #34 the news that Indianapolis Running Back Edge James WILL be leaving the Colts will more than likely cool interest in the Dolphins runner.

This will be great reading for the fans of Ricky that want him to stay. Lets hope that teams take a chance on the Edge than trade for our Ricky.

Heres the proof Edge is leaving: http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=2317349 :dolphins:

Actually it would put more on Ricky since he's cheaper and Edge wants a part of the National Treasury.

That would help, but I'm still alittle worried about losing Ricky. If I were an NFL HC searching for a new RB, I think I'd rather have Ricky more than anyone else on the market. He's without question {still} among the NFL's elite RB's....

PHINZ RULE!!!

The only way this effects Ricky is if they don't come to an agreement with the CBA and this year becomes uncapped. Otherwise there are too many teams with more draft picks then salary cap room.

Agree....:cooldude:

Ricky is cheaper but I don't think he plays past this contract which means you only get him for 2 more years. Edge is younger and gives you a chance to build around him for the future. It just depends on how you look at it.

Yeah I'm sure none of the other teams are aware of the possibility of Edge being available.

Are you serious?

I think they're all aware of it. As well as Shaun Alexander being a free agent this year. Both of them will hit the market but Edge is a better all around RB than Alexander IMO. Edge is a much better receiver.

Ricky is better and cheaper than James
