Alright well I'm probably going to get flamed for this, but why not stir the pot a bit.

Bill Cowher didn't win a superbowl until he had an outstanding DC by the name of Lebeau (sp?). That mean, mean defense led by Porter and the Poalomalu (sp) was the backbone of that team. Most of their recent success, I would say, can be tacked onto an excellent blitz-happy DC, with good drafting.

I'm not saying Cowher isn't a good coach, he is, but he isn't this messiah to be exalted that all of you are claiming to be.

The Only coach that I would break the bank for, and throw all the draft picks the franchise could at, would be BB - and thats not gonna happen.

In any case, as of right now, I really don't know who I want for HC... just no college coaches please. This Cameron guy, lets just say that its freaking hard to NOT LOOK GOOD when you have so much freaking talent on that SD offense... My little cousin could call successful plays for them.

Lets be patient, and see who comes onto our radar.

Go Fins!!!!! :dolphins:

Wayne Huizenga wants to win. Bill Cowher does win, and he wins well. Besides, I think Cowher needs a change of scenery. But, since Wayne wants to win, Cowher gives him a chance to win, and WIN BIG!

he wins well? 1 sb win in 14 years is winning well?

I do not want Cowher

Cowher's a tremendous coach. His chin is the most beautiful thing since Shula. He had an amazing run of success with an ownership that wouldnt spend money to keep FA's or go after FA's. He never had a QB until Ben showed up and it's not a coincidence that that's when he won his Superbowl. Cowher deserves an enormous amount of respect for what he's done.

Having said that, I'm not sure he's for the Dolphins. He's been with the Steelers so long who knows how he'll adjust to somewhere else. Or if he'll have the fire to want to win somewhere else. Besides it's not even an option for this year.

Cowher is a good coach,

but he had a losing record in AFC Championship (on the bright side, at least he was getting to them) games; lost his other superbowl appearance, etc etc.

He is a good coach, BUT he isn't this messiah - ITS HARD TO LOSE when your defense and your DC are THAT GOOD.

Your offense, thanks to good drafting, was good enough to not lose it for their defense.

did u watch the SB? the steelers won DESPITE the play of their QB

ben is a good qb, in the sense that he'll manage a game for you, but he is farrrr from being a high-power slinger. He does enough to not screw it up, etc. but normally, its their defense that wins their games (they just need to put up something in the teens, and their defense will usually do the rest).

Cowher is a great coach. I'm still pissed about the Steelers losing to the Cowboys in that Superbowl back in the late 90's. The onside kick was perfect, they drove right down the field and then O'Donnell throws a pic in the endzone and costs them the game.

I've been a big Steelers fan since way back when Mark Malone played for them. Cowher has done an excellent job up there. He has consistantly won games and done a great job of developing the players that they actually drafted which is exactly what we need to start doing here...

He's no Billichick though. He's much more of a motivational type coach than a schemer....

No Cower....short time fix...he's on the verge of retiring. this is nothing more than a ploy on his part to get a fat contract for 2-3 years and then bolt.

Want someone young, with aspirations to be great.

Regardless if it's Cower or someone else, this person will need to "rebuild" the team...I want the rebuilding to be done with someone young, that can relate to the players, that will emphasize youth, with new and innovative ideas.

That's the way it was with Shula when he joined the Dolphins.

The problem with Cowher is he has habit to play Marty Ball at times.
