Browns | Team requests permission to speak with Garrett
Thu, 4 Jan 2007 13:27:40 -0800
Tony Grossi, of the Cleveland Plain Dealer, reports the Cleveland Browns have requested permission to speak with Miami Dolphins quarterbacks coach Jason Garrett about the position of offensive coordinator.

Let him go. Frankly, I haven't been impressed with the job he has done. Mike Shula was much better if you ask me.

i like garrett and hope he's still here if wayne's new guy (if its not garrett, that is a possiblilty) wants him to part of our future

i thought if the regime stayed the same he might have gotten a shot at OC if/when mularkey got the boot... but im guessing 75% of our current coaching staff will be gone with a new coach/GM whatever and he probably wouldn't be sticking around anyway...

Garrett being lost would hurt. As Bill Parcells has said, he has head coach written all over him someday. He had no say with Saban here and with Mularkeys crap offense.

Ask Byroan how much we don't need him.

Losing him would be a big loss IMO. I would have loved for him to get a chance at OC.

I like Garrett and really want to keep him.

Who do they ask permission to anyway? I thought Saban would typically have a say as if if they're denied their request or not?

He's was part of Linehans staff anyway right? The new coach is probably going to have his own offense which is probably different from what Garrett would run. I hope he gets the job with cleavland if he leaves but if not i hope he stays.

i hope we keep him, i think he's done well with what he was given, it's tough on a QB coach when you have a head coach and on offensive coordinator that want to do your job as well as thier own

Well who is responsible for teaching the WR's on catching the ball and not dropping them?

Deny thier request. Period we should keep Garrett. If the CrimsonLiar wouldv'e denied the Rams we would still have Linehan and never would've hired Malarkey
