MERGED: Bye Bye Dan Quinn\Phins fire Coach Quinn

Dolphins fire coach Quinn

Phins.com reported that the Dolphins fired defensive coach Dan Quinn. I wonder why. He was suppose to be a good young coach.
 
Interesting, wonder what the rest of the story is (or if anyone in the media will even care).
 
a saban guy maybe cam wants to bring in his own guy say from the san diego chargers?

Very surprising for a number of reasons. First, and most obvious, the dline has played really well. Second, why wait this long so that the guy has really close to no chance of getting a decent NFL job, with most coaching staffs complete at this point. Third, he coaches a position with a lot of veterans who do not necessarily enjoy having a new coach every other season. It appeared as though the guys really enjoyed playing for Coach Quinn.

Come on. I am certain this is Capers' move if anything - he is running the show on D. Second, why be excited? Our dline was the strength of the team, and yes, you can say we had the most talent there, but theres no real reason (in terms of production) to think we needed a new defensive line coach. He was doing a nice job. It must just be a matter of preference on Capers' part; with a guy he has worked with in the past being available.
 
First move of the offseason that really disappoints me. I would love to know the reason
 
He might have been trying to get the gig as DC in San Fran. He was well liked by the the Niners and they have an opening at DC.
