This is very interesting since Kevin is Miami's player rep and would have a good insight on the negotiations.
To my understanding, without a CBA, his renegotiation may not be substantial, since I believe it can only be spread out over 4 years and his salary couldn't increase by more than 30% in a year, which would definately limit the amount of room he could free up. However, if there will be a new agreement, the signing bonus could be prorated longer without the salary issues, and would free up more money under the cap.

I knew this was going to happen. Kevin Carter restructured almost every year with the Titans to help the team out. Why can't all players be like that?
