Merged: Chatman Signs With Jets

Thankfully. :lol: I was just having a conversation with a Jets fan on here, and he was saying how he would love to see Clement wearing aqua.

Well, I am THRILLED to see Jesse Chatman in the green and white. I loved the kids fire initially, but I grew tired with Cam using him over Ronnie when Ronnie was FAR AND AWAY the better player. Not only was it frustrating, but it seemed to falsely boost the guy's confidence, and I actually felt he regressed as the year went on. He fell in love with this spinorama move at first contact, which consistently resulted in more yards lost than gained. Moreover, while playing injured is admirable, towards the end, he was really not up to it, and he would be active, run twice, limp off, and never come back.

I like Jesse the person, but I am not the least bit upset to see him go. But congrats to Brett on the contract! (Tessler)
 
To be honest, Chatman ran hard, very nimble feet and strong legs. Not Ronnie Brown but a suitable substitute on a 1-15 team.
 
opens up the door for ricky...a shame he went to the jets though
 
I can't say him leaving us going to be the biggest loss we suffer in FA but I will never forget how he played his butt off for us and never quit despite how bad we were. I hope that attitude rubbed off on the players left behind.

Makes me very nervous!

Look, Chatman turned out to be one of the most surprising things on that lousy team we had last year. I agree it was frustrating watching him on the field when Ronnie should have been there, but I was sure glad to have him when Ronnie went down for the year. He ran hard for us behind an awful line. In the grand scheme of things, though, we don't need him. I'd wish him good luck, but it is the Jests for christ's sake!
 
why would Chatman want to come back when Parcells has made it clear that he has taken a liking to the pot head? He has a better opportunity with the Jets.

Exactly, I liked him too for those same reasons, but unfortunately there's no room at the inn for him. Normally I root for these guys, like him and Harrington who were great non-complaining team players, but it'll be hard to do now since anytime he does well, even if not against us, it helps the jets do well. Too bad.

You forgot Cobbs. They a 4 deep at RB. They may draft one late or Sign an undrafted free agent. They are set at RB.

It will take Ronnie a while to be back to where he was. Could take all season.

Ricky is not reliable and certainly not durable these days.

Booker is NOT an every down between the tackles type of back.

We need an insurance running back my friend! :up:

Reason being is that Cobbs is very forgettable.
