We will get compensatory picks this year, for once. We may get like a 5th for Damion McIntosh who started almost every game in KC.
That's not entirely true. We lost McIntosh who started 15 games for Kansas City. Sammy Morris also had a rather productive season in New England until he was injured.
We will get an pick for sure! (#1 overall of the "8th round").
I bet his agent will want 7th round money!
We signed Feeley, Liewiniski, and Martin so its pretty much awash.
Nope, it's not because the whole thing isn't about how many guys you lost or how many guys you signed but about an elaborate formula factoring in production, salary, guaranteed money and God knows what else. It's possible to sign ten more guys than you lost and still end up with a pick. For instance, McIntosh got more guaranteed money than Feely, Liwienski and Martin combined. That plays a role as well. Again, I'm not saying that we will get a compensatory selection, but it's entirely possible.
Shall I sacrifice a chicken?
i think we will get picks , last year we lost tons of players and we only signed porter.
Here is the list: (Signed) TE David Martin (Green Bay); PK Jay Feely (NY Giants); DB Cam Worrell (Chicago); FB Cory Schlesinger (Detroit); WR Az Hakim (San Diego); OG Chris Liwienski (Arizona)
(Lost) OT Damion McIntosh (KC); RB Sammy Morris (New England); RB Travis Minor (St. Louis); FB Darian Barnes (NY Jets); DT Jeff Zgonina (Houston); OG Toniu Fonoti (Atlanta); DE David Bowens (NY Jets)
BTW...McIntosh started 15 games at LT.
Theres no way we well get any comp picks. Not when we have the most signed FA in the NFL.
