If the attitudes during the doldrums of the NFL offseason are any indication, somebody better get some fire extinguishers ready. The Miami Dolphins-New York Jets rivalry is already getting hot.

Tuesday night, after Dolphins linebacker Channing Crowder first learned about Jets coach Rex Ryan's unsolicited response earlier in the day regarding comments Crowder made this weekend, the talkative defensive leader returned another round of his own jabs.

''Oh, Lord have mercy,'' Crowder said Tuesday. ``What's wrong with him? Now he's talking about preparation? We play them twice this year. If he wants to be prepared, shouldn't he know the starting middle linebackers of his division rival?''

As for the notion that Ryan would ''handle him myself'' if he was ''younger,'' Crowder begs to differ.

''He says he'd take care of me if he was younger?'' Crowder said. ``I'd have beat the hell out of that big old joker. Or if he really wants to get retro, my daddy or my uncle could have handled him. Don't get big. Win with preparation? Start watching some tape and learn who your rival is. Come on now.''

That is a pretty stupid statement on Rex's patrt...."you win with preperation" "I don't know who this Crowder guy is"....Rex is so prepared he doesn't even know who the starting middle LBers are for a division rival....this is why Ryan fits in so well in NY. He seems awestruck by the Pats, like everybody else associated with the Jets.
 
I am not a huge Crowder guy, though I think that he is one of those players who when surrounded by great talent, can have the ability to look better than he is. I find it funny with his comments about handling the old joker, when I do remember the last Pats game last year and whoever it was, I think Matt Light, had Crowder by the dreads and was beating him pretty good lol. Easy to run your mouth about an old coach, but when it came time to really fight, he got whipped pretty good. And don't tell me he was smart because he didn't throw any punches or whatever, he got punked. Period. Joey Porter wouldn't have taken that stuff.
 
Rex Ryan is the next guy in a long line of guys who will fail miserably without Ray Lewis running around as a HOF'er. Marvin Lewis, Jack Del Rio, Mike Nolan, no real success after they left Baltimore. Rex will be exposed.

Lewis got the bengals to the playoffs then his star QB had a career altering injury.

Del Rio has had his team on the cusp of the AFC Title Game- a place you guys haven't been since 1994.
 
I think his point was, the Bengals D was never anywhere close to Baltimores, and the Jags have always seemed like underachiviers.

hahahahaha. WOW WHAT A LOAD OF CRAP! Bengals and Jags we're 4-11-1 and 5-11 last year. Did you really just make an excuse for the Bengals?
 
Rex Ryan is just like every other New York City resident. Loud, annoying, and just flat out stupid. God, I hate New York City and every stinking team in that area.

first off only girls pull hair in a fight. Second Crowder walked away from that fight laughing his *** off! He hardly got his *** kicked.

your new head coach has started a ridiculous feud with a player within your division. who's the moron? even though you're a jets fan, it has to be getting hard to defend this guy.
