"Daunte Culpepper's grievance hearing, scheduled for today, was postponed and has been tenatively rescheduled for July 3 in Los Angeles at the law offices of Dewey Ballantine, according to the National Football League Players' Association.

The hearing was postponed because arbitrator's John Feerick's flight from New York was delayed due to weather, and he couldn't get on a later one.

"Everyday the hearing is postponed is one he misses from being on the free agent market," said Richard Berthelsen, the legal counsel for the NFLPA, who was in South Florida to argue Culpepper's case.

"At the same time, this is the time of the year when teams don't have a lot of activity going on so you can weigh one against the other. He certainly deserves every chance to make another team. Unfortunately, the hearing might not be on July 3. There are some logistical issues that have to be resolved"

damnit.. I wanted an answer already!

Daunte is the lingering Fart that will never go away.

This sucks. An answer woulodn't have came for one or two weeks anyways, but now we have to wait even longer.

Most flights have some sort of delay. This sounds pretty fishy to me. Why re-schedule in LA? Why can't Culpepper make it on July 3rd?

Sounds like the guy doesn't want to waste his time with this baseless hearing.
Relax conspiracy theorists.

I have a friend who was vacationing in Florida and go back home to Mass yesterday, and his flight was supposed to go into NY before going up to New England. His flight was cancelled because they weren't letting any flights in or out of NY.

Unless of course, it was just a major cover-up!

I doubt it was "he doesn't want to waste his time with a baseless hearing", it's his job to hear this case, and I don't think it's as "baseless" as you. While the circumstances are undoubtedly different, it's the same guy who ruled in favor of Steve McNair.

No conspiracy theory here Patsie fan...I'm just suggesting that there is more to the story than a 15 min. flight delay.

Of course, the case is baseless. The same guy who ruled in favor of McNair did NOT release him from his contract.

Things are afoot!

My guess is that Cpep and the Fins are trying to work it out before the weekend is over. This sort of thing can be done by teleconference. I smell something.

The longer this takes the better for the Fins...especially if they rule in his favor...

Relax. The closer we get to the season the more value Dante has for us. He knows that if we release him on the last cut day he will never make it with another team next year so he will be forced to accept a trade just as we were forced to accept a trade for Trent.

If we release him on cut day, he will still be picked up. No team is actively looking for a starter so the only thing he loses is some time learning thier team and offense. Teams are not going to just say screw Duante because its cut down day. It may limit his money for this year because many teams use up thier cap but it will not keep him from getting a job. Now if a team has a major injury they may come calling for Pep.

i think he will be traded to the team HE wants..as long as thbey compensate accordingly...i'd say a 6th or 7th with performance bonus that may take affect if he takes 60 percent of the snaps, etc etc....
like we had last year with harrington...
this would be the best case scenerio of coufrse..
either way..
goodbye and goodluck..but dont let the door hit you in the fanny on the way out...( which judging by his sack total last year, isnt a safe bet for him)..
