Just read on NFL.com that Donovan Darius was just released by the Jags... I think we should try to pick him up. Thoughts?

PFT reports that the Jags cut him -- wouldn't he be an upgrade over Tillman? I sure think so.
 
I am surprised he was released. I see no reason as to why he wouldn't be worth at least a look. I for one wouldn't like to get into a bidding war over the guy though. More like if he wants to play here, then give him a chance, but don't spend more than he's worth at this point.
 
He's only played 12 games the past two seasons(2 and 10), that might be a good reason why he was released.

I still can't believe Tillman started for you guys. He was terrible in Buffalo.

Always been a huge Darius fan (Cuse). I wonder how much he has left at this point though. But I definitely don't want to see him on the Fins.
 
I've always wanted this guy on the Dolphins. Since I live in Orlando, I've been forced to watch alot of Jags games, and man this guy is a HEAVY HITTER! I don't know if he'd be an upgrade, but surely he couldn't be a bad pickup. We definitely should look into it. Too bad we couldn't trade Cpep straight up for him.
 
I'm a little torn here. I don't think there is any such thing as a bidding war for an oft-injured safety in mid-June. History just doesn't point towards that...so I'm sure he would come at a decent price tag.

But, he's a hitter. We don't necessarily need a hitter back there. Renaldo Hill is already a hitter. We need an interceptor, and not an injured one.

He's probably better than Tillman but if our best offer to him is to be our third safety, he'll probably go elsewhere.

Does it surprise anyone that Jax didn't offer him to Miami for DC before they cut him? Or maybe they did and we didn't bite. It's more likely we'll be offered a player another team doesn't like, than a draft pick for DC, IMO.

He is a definate upgrade over Tillman, and Hill actually...He is a bit older but he is one of the most solid safeties in the league. Trust that if Donovan has any gas left Dom will go after him...He probably wont be a FA for long.

Why is it too bad... Now we might still get a draft pick for Daunte, and we can sign Darius as a FA.
 
I think if the Eagles want him, and they do have a need there they will get him he is very good friends with McNAbb...
 
He reminds me of lance shulters a big hitting safety i think we should get him.
 
He tried to get traded here in the past when he was upset at his contract so I'm sure he wants to play here.
 
I thought our starting safties were Yeremiah Bell and Renaldo Hill. Not Tillman and Hill.
