Its not a good idea to load to many torrents at the same time as our total bandwidth would be spread too thinly in order to do a good job of seeding.

If you want to load one of our torrents we request that you sign up with your Finheaven screen name or at least let us know who you are,Our seeders may mistake you for an intruder and block you.

Next on our wish list are the following games (In no particular order);
01/02/82 -- San Diego 41, at Miami 38 (ot) (the Epic in Miami)
10/09/83 -- Buffalo 38, at Miami 35 (ot) (Marino comes off the bench)
01/23/83 -- at Miami 14, N .Y. Jets 0 (Duhe!!)
01/06/85 -- at Miami 45, Pittsburgh 28 (AFC Championship game)
09/21/86 -- at N.Y. Jets 51, Miami 45 (ot) (Marino/OBrien shootout)
09/04/94 -- at Miami 39, New England 35 (Marino returns)
09/25/94 -- at Minnesota 38, Miami 35 (Marino/Moon shootout)
12/31/94 -- at Miami 27, Kansas City 17 (Marino/Montana - Div. Playoffs)
12/22/96 -- Miami 31, at N.Y. Jets 28 (fake spike, Ingram 3 TDs)
09/06/98 -- Miami 24, Indianapolis 15 (Manning’s first game)
12/21/98 -- at Miami 31, Denver 21 (Marino/Elway II)
11/07/99 -- at Miami 17, Tennessee 0 (Madison 3 INTs)
09/17/00 -- at Miami 19, Baltimore 6 (rain, Marino’s # is retired)
09/23/01 -- at Miami 18, Oakland 15 (great finish... SI cover)

The games highlighted are favorites.

If you can think of any other games that are worthy of inclusion please mention them.

If anyone should have these games on tape or DVD and is willing to share them with us please post on here.

We have had several volunteers but many dont know how to go about encoding (Capturing ) the DVDs or Tapes. We have several people who are knowledgeable about encoding and we can help you share them on the torrents. They include AWING PILOT,Jaxdolfan,Chrisko,KennyStang,
Max Power,Medieval,Phinphreak,Crunch Time.

What is a torrent ? Basically it a file sharing system. The way it works is that a fellow member records the game, edits the commercials, compresses the result into a digital file which is then uploaded to a bittorent site.

To download a copy of the game You need to first install a client (Program). Then you open the torrent file (A text file which gives instructions to your client) and it will start loading the video file on your HD.Here is a link to the official client

http://www.bittorrent.com/ (Disregard the donations request)

For more advanced users http://www.bitcomet.com/

In order to see the game on your PC you will need to install codecs. That only comes into play after the load is complete and you want to see the game on your PC player. You will be advised what codecs to install. The DVD size videos do not need codecs but do need special viewers.

A very good media player that will read most codecs is the Videolan player. Here is the link.

http://www.videolan.org/vlc/

BTW the torrents that are not DVD quality will suffer in comparison if your objective is to burn the video and watch it on a big screen. They are oriented for PC viewing. Here is the link for the codecs for the Divx ripped videos.

For those who would like to load the game but who need additional technical help check the following FAQs.

For those with a technical background

We request that you roll back through the thread if you have any questions. The information you seek may have already been answered.

No torrent can be successful without the participation of encoders(Those who capture the video, encode and upload the torrents),seeders (Those who stay on after they finish loading to help out other members who are trying to finish) and leechers (A misnomer as they are also sharing their BW as they are trying to finish). If you are interested please post on this thread.

The torrents usually start slowly and build up downloading BW (bandwidth speed) as those who finish stay on to seed for those who have not finished. If done properly it has an snowballing effect.

If you are experiencing slow download speeds or you suspect you have Firewall issues to overcome you may want to forward your ports.Try the following procedures.(Only for PC literates)

Remember when you forward your ports you also have to find the place in your client software that specifies the port range it uses and make sure that it matches the port range you specify in the port forwarding section of your router config.

SEEDING
To make these torrents work it is very important that you stay on seeding for at least 24 hrs after you have finished particularly if you have a high speed (BW) connection .

As a bare minimum you should upload at least as much BW you have downloaded.

Some helpful info for Encoders/Cappers

http://www.digital-digest.com/
www.videohelp.com

To edit commercials you can try a program called Virtual Dub.There is another associated mod program called Nandub which will help you resolve any audio sync issues. There are other programs as well that can do the job.

To encode you can try Dr Divx which is linked as follows.(You must install the included crack to make it a free source)

http://www.isohunt.com/torrents.php?ihq=dr+divx&ext=&op=and

There are other encoding programs.Check the following comparison tables.
.
http://graphics.csail.mit.edu/~tbue.../avi.html#divx5
http://www.videohelp.com/comparison.htm.

To upload a torrent you first have to make a torrent file. You can use a program called Maketorrent 2.1 for this purpose.Link

http://krypt.dyndns.org:81/torrent/maketorrent/index.phtml

Its a simple procedure. The most important information is the URL of the tracker you will be using.

Note to Encoders:please include the following NFO text file with your upload.

Note to new Encoders and Cappers. It might be a good idea to upload a sample of your torrent before uploading your main torrent.

We are looking for anyone who can offer us a private tracker.

I have a lot of games on tape from the late 80's thru the late 90's(including Marino's 5 td performance on opening day against the Pats following the achilles injury)....how would you get them on a torrent?

We have you in mind.If you dont have a capture card or you are not sure how to go about it AWING PILOT lives close to your area and might be able to pick them up .

Here is a volunteer.

If someone could show me how to rip them and upload them, I have a Dolphins v Chiefs game featuring Joe Montana.. and I have a copy of a Bills v. Dolphins game from last year (or the year before) where Ricky really went off. They're both on DVD, bought off of eBay.

We are interested.Who do we have to kill ?

I have the Bears game in a 1.3 gig file, but my router is keeping me from seeding, what do I do?
How are you doing with that.? We can still use a smaller version of that game.Port forwarding can help you overcome the router firewall.

Ok this is goofy. I am using Bitcomet.

when I was seeding last week it went ok.

But now am downloading Cowboys game at 40kbs, and trying to seed the bears and the pats game. BUT...can't connect with the pats, and the bears is only uploading at 1kbs...

Now, last nite before starting to download the cowboys, the seeding probs were the same. Am I missing something here? my health on lthe bears is 89% and I have no limt set on upload and download ...so is there a prob with the system or am I doing something wrong...I have changed nothing from last week when I was seeding..thanks..t
Just keep seeding. There seems to be a correlation when we are seeding or loading more than one game.It draws at different rates but if you stay on it eventually draw some BW so you would be helping if you stay on.Thanks.

ok, no prob..
I went and did the router thing and now it is uploading at 24-30....

question on the router tho...do I have to do that everytime I boot up? Or is there anyway to save it? I went and did what they said when I hit apply, it said settings were good and I returned to the same screen but the boxes were blank..I would have thought the settings and app name would still be there...oh well..it's working..thanks Crunch..t

A couple of things:
First there are a few different torrent files kicking around on the same games. Some of these torrent files may have been created with the option to remember last tracking site IP so that if they were amended to the new IP of CDDVDheaven.co.uk (69.xxx.xxx.xx) they might still try to connect to the old IP. If someone else with the make torrent software opens the torrent file at the newest Cowboy link you'll see BOTH IPs listed. The only way I've been able to join onto the Cowboys is with manual announce. Someone with know-how should review the CDDVDheaven links for clean torrent files. The files I posted as attachments for the Bears and the Pats were succesful files, but I have not been able to amend the Cowboys one with my software.

On router port forwarding: If you have more than 1 computer on a network that is using dynamic IP assignment (DHCP) it is possible that the computer you forwarded the ports to may get a different IP when you reboot the system. Either get comfortable checking the IP of your computer and maintaining the port forwarding page in the router configuration or you can read up on assigning a static IP address for the computer that is to handle torrents and using the DHCP dynamic IP assignment feature for just other computers.

Also the port forwarding info can be reset to the defaults if you reset your modem depending on manufacturing.

Bear in mind also that many variables effect speed other than just each one's system.

this is my choice, 01/06/85 -- at Miami 45, Pittsburgh 28 (AFC Championship game)

For accountability purposes we request that you sign up in the individual torrent sites with your Finheaven screen name. All those who dont do this will not be given support or consideration.I have changed the password on the generic signup. We can block IPs from loading if there is any abuse detected.

Ok Crunch, I have a slight problem with this. First off, I use a different name on most torrent sites. I won't change it. Period. Setting up a rule that you believe is fair and righteous, might not be for everyone. So telling me that you won't support me or give me consideration because of a psuedo name seems quite funny.

Bittorrent is about sharing. And there has ALWAYS been problems with people downloading and not seeding. No matter the data, or the site. And blocking IP's for the sole reason that we don't like what someone has done or hasn't done, well that seems a bit juvenile to me.

If we need to start setting up these kinds of "rules" as to using bittorrent, then maybe it would be best to go to a FTP system that would allow picking and choosing who and what. But as for me, I will always continue to share and download. I won't close my door to someone simply because they don't see things the same way I do.

And yes, I'm still seeding the Bears, Cowboys, and Pats games. And I will continue to do so until there is no longer a call for them. Of the combined 3 games, I've uploaded over 17GB. People want to watch their favorite team. I encourage it. :D

I'm not trying to jump on you or be a butthead, just trying to express my views. Besides, this system of sharing previous Dolphin games isn't owned by any of us. We all have an equal say in the matter.

i appreciate what you are saying, but i'm sure its easy for someone who is the first to get every game due to a ridiculous internet connection! i agree with Crunch on the policy of blocking IPs... over the last 4 games we've seeded, there have been people who have downloaded EACH game and then quit. why be stubborn and block IP's? because there are people like Kenny Stang (and i think Jax) who DO stay on, but due to slower connections it takes him several weeks to get the big ones. Some of the other leechers who don't seed download it super fast and then disconnect..... eating up all the other seeders bandwidth.

its the principle, and if we police it right, we can avoid the problem in the future. I am all for sharing dolphin games too, but i am more hesitant to share them with people who don't want to share them with other people - that is in essence what these guys are doing.... willing to grab our games but not share it with others by helping to seed.

You, I, crunch, maxpower, jax, kenny, and others who DO stay on to seed are not the culprits here. so there is no need to get all up in arms over this.

Crunch - put a link on the first post to the video-editing software you guys use to break out commercials from recordings.

thanks
