Merged: Dolphins | Deal for Harrington appears to be fading away/Latest on Joey

Although we wouldn't have to give up anything to get him by june, I don't believe saban would wait for that, cause harrington wouldn't be ready to start week 1 if needed

guess u can tell John Clayton is getting old, how old is this news?

Jason Cole, of the Miami Herald, reports a deal between the Detroit Lions and the Miami Dolphins for QB Joey Harrington continued to stall, and the Dolphins are preparing for the chance the deal might not get done.

The Lions are going to cut him anyway and the Dolphins seem to be the only ones willing to trade, so they should take what ever they could get.

Personally, I would just wait for him to be cut, then sign him. No need to waste a draft pick.

We need to make the trade. Give them what they're asking for. If they want a 3rd or 4th, give them a 7th and then a conditional 3rd or 4th for next year's draft. That way nobody loses. If Harrington doesn't play or plays but doesn't perform, we don't lose anything but the 7th. If he ends up playing a ton or just plays lights out when he does, then the team benefits and we lose a pick for next year (when we could also turn around and trade him if DC played great when healthy).

Good, Harrington was going to be a one year fix anyways. There's a few veterans who, IMO, would be better served for the hanful of games they'll be asked to play.

Can we please get Maddox?

Harrington a one year fix? How does anyone really know that? He might be pegged to succeed Dante for all we know.

I'm thinking Saban's waiting for Harrington to be cut, see what happens in the draft, and waiting for the June 1st cuts.
