Dolphins | Taylor could have contract restructured
Thu, 16 Feb 2006 12:19:16 -0800
Jason Cole, of the Miami Herald, reports the Miami Dolphins have had discussions about reworking DE Jason Taylor's contract. Taylor will count $11 million against the 2006 salary cap, with $8 million being a combination of base salary and roster bonus.

He should do it. He's a team first kinda guy. He'll do it for the team and for the fans. He definately deserves to finish his career in Miami.

So if Zack and Jason do agree to restructure, do you all think maybe, just maybe, Sam will decide its an ok thing to do????

He might, but is he really the type of player we need at corner in the hybrid scheme, especially, though I hate to say it because Sam is one of my favorites, that his play has been declining recently?

they are real team players.they really want to wiin a super bowl

You are right Sam doesnt even fit our schemes, I would really like a 4th rd for him.

I don't like the idea of restructuring Jason or Zach this year. When you restructure, all you're doing is pushing more dead cap into the future. We did such a good job managing the cap last year that we should be able to keep them at their current numbers this season.

How does this make him a team player? I'm not saying he's not, he is....but this isn't really an example of it.

you do realize that when these players RESTRUCTURE. they are just getting more guaranteed money....which is a good thing for them. They are not taking PAY CUTS.

For all the crap that Sam Madison takes around here.....he is the only one of the three that I remember taking less money to help the team (in an attempt to leave money for them to resign Surtain). And then the team goes and trades Surtain anyway.......meaning Sam left money on the table for nothing.

Anyway, none of this restructuring will take place if they don't get a new CBA in place soon.

i garentee that they wouldnt reconstruct if wanny was still our coach theyre doin it cuz they know that were goin far with this roster and coachin staff

Gus needs to restrucutre. no way we should have a 4 million dollar cap hit on a sucky QB.
