Dolphins Meeting With DE William Joseph (Giants)

The Miami Dolphins today played host to free agent defensive tackle William Joseph.

A five-year NFL veteran, Joseph (born September 3, 1979, in Miami, Fla.) was a first-round draft choice of the New York Giants in 2003. He played in 55 games in his five years with the Giants and recorded 72 tackles, including seven sacks. Joseph played in all 47 games during his four years at the University of Miami (Fla.) and was an All-Big East selection as a senior.

Not sure what position he'd play for us since he can't play NT and I'm not sure if he fits in as a 3-4 DE but he'd be good depth.

Hmm ... I never thought of Williams Joseph as a 3-4 DE, but it kind of makes sense. He's got a prototype body for it.

The only reason we are looking at this career underachiver is that he is young and perhaps can learn something about the position from Jason.

lol...William Joseph of the Giants DT

Ya I get tired that people can't recognize the difference between Taylor and 3-4 DEs after this long...

Joseph has one advantage in that he's lean and tall at 6-5, 308 so he has the necessary size to handle the position.

He'd be great depth to have and has plenty of talent.

Dont even get me started on this 3-4 DE confusion. Its absolutely crazy that people dont get it yet. I'd have no problem with this move. The D-line played best when we had lots of guys rotating in. Last year we were way too thin.

Wi lliam Joesph would be a perfect fit for what Parcells likes in a 3-4 DE/4-3 DT
