From the Sun-Sentinel:

The Dolphins are discussing a free-agent contract with Denver guard Cooper Carlise, the Denver Post reported today. An eight-year NFL veteran from the University of Florida, Carlisle started for the Broncos the past two seasons.

bring in as many as u can...we need a good training camp battle. id also sign Matt Lehr. Again...we cant rely on Toledo and Alabi so soon.

Right on Toledo, but a different story about Alabi. If he can't start in his 3rd year, he simply won't become a starter. Mind you, he doesn't have to. He's a 5th round pick, so you'd be lucky to get a decent backup. But if Alabi isn't ready to start this year, don't expect him to be ready to start ever.

I agree about bringing as many as possible to battle it out in camp, however, it is important that we bring people with potential. And also youth into the OL.

This is what the Denver Post actually wrote:

Shanahan said he would consider re-signing Denver's two remaining unrestricted free agents: guard Cooper Carlisle and defensive tackle Michael Myers. Carlisle is talking to Oakland, Miami, Tampa Bay and Seattle.

Hardly sounds like "working on a contract" as the Sun-Sentinel claims.

maybe they dont know that a contract is being worked out.. hes a free agent, not like he is on the team right now. i would think the miami paper would be more informed about us talkin to him about a contract than a denver paper would.

Carlisle was suppose to be real high in the FA market, but apparently teams were worried about him coming from a system that only does zone blocking.

I was just going to post this...Im not sure if he is the best fit for us since he comes from a system that strictly uses zone blocking...
