Dolphins sign Vernon Carey

February 20th, 2009 by Edgar Thompson
The Dolphins have locked up right tackle Vernon Carey to a five-year deal, an NFL source said, solidifying the tackle position for the team for the next several years.
The team’s first-round pick in 2004, Carey, 27, has started 60 straight games for the Dolphins.
More to come in a bit."

Now we can start to further address needs via F/A and draft

yup saw this posted too!! Good news to start the weekend and FA. Woo-Hoo!! GO PHINS!!

Anyways, I'm happy that Vernon is locked up, signed, sealed, and delivered. I'm happy that the hometown kid gets to stay in Miami for MANY years to come. Congrats, Vernon!

nice. good to know we have him locked up now. Now we can focus on getting some other positions filled

See, all of you Chicken Littles. Everything isn't all gloom and doom.

I was the biggest CL by far

I thought he was a goner for sure

why do they do this to us?

this makes me believe that he was gonna be tagged but that we were so close that it never came to that

while I don't think he is the greatest RT, he is the best backup LT out there so he deserves to get paid

I remember during his first PC he said he started to cry when Shawn Andrews was drafted by Philly because he realized then that he'd get to live his life long dream of being a Miami Dolphin.

Although he played scared this season, he's still a very good RT. I'm glad Carey is staying a Fin.

Excellent news guys. Thanks for posting it.

This is great news and Miami now can continue to build a better OLINE.

...SWEET!
