MERGED: dolphins should make a play for unhappy bronco cutler

i don't like cutler. at all. for the first time in over a decade there is no QB drama in miami and i'd like to keep it that way. let pennington do it until henne's ready.

How about we get rid of Beck and let Penny, Henne, and......Cutler..ny??... go battle royal for the right to start next season!

Although Cutler is top notch, I would agree with Bob- let's keep it as it is for now. Henne will rip apart defenses when he takes the snap next year.

Greg Cote wrote something similar a few days ago. Honestly, if we didn't have Henne, I'd probably pull the trigger on the deal...but since we have him, and he looks like he's going to be the real deal..I'm a bit hesitant.

this whole thing makes me nervous. i wonder if the front office is considering making a play for this guy..? a lot of so called analysts have mentioned cleveland and detroit for obvious reasons. though after mistakenly passing on brees twice, part of me does not want to see that happen again. i'm guessing we aren't going to be players for cutler though and they (the FO) are happy with penny and henne.

no way not a bp guy, look at what he is pulling in denver no chance we go after cutler

I thought very highly of cutler in the draft, and I've followed him in denver. Class act, good community guy, great quarterback and still has his best years (decade if he stays healthy) ahead of him.

That said, what we have worked for us last year. If pennington does half as good a job mentoring henne (who has great physical attributes) as he did directing this team, we're going to be set at qb for a long time. And it won't cost us a first round pick at such a critical juncture in our rebuilding process.

Just my two cents.

Another dumb article written by a reporter who doesn't have a clue. That guy shouldn't be employed.

The article also states henne as a third round pick. Wasnt he picked in the late 2nd round?

you dont know henne WILL do that though, form what i have seen in college of him is he wont, im not saying i dont like henne but he is very unproven (though i bet he has gotten a little better since college) but cutler is proven and there is a great chance that he would come in and be great.

I think if they would take Penny or Henne with a pick then we should do it

1) maybe they quietly have already looked into it & have either decided Cutler's not worth the asking price & there are extenuating circumstances that eliminate him as a candidate
2) could be they are completely satisfied with the current QB stable & believe our Franchise QB is developing behind Pennington as we post
3) outside chance they are just watching how the field of interest develops in respect to Jay Cutler before entering into the fray

I think it is a non-topic, but only the Front Office knows
