MERGED: Dolphins Sign Brent Grimes

Maybe you're right. Maybe I was distracted by all the white noise you dust up. It doesn't look like in the last 40-50 posts you had one positive comment; hell you're criticizing me and even told a poster who disagreed with a hack's opinon that we're losers in the draft "to grow a sack" Me bad, I should have known better than to even waste my time.

Pro posting tip of the day:

If it writes like a troll, posts factually incorrect blather like a troll, avoids the topic after being called out like a troll, and then cries persecution on its nonsense like a troll, then, my friend, it just might be a troll.

Great signing! Is there a little risk with him returning from an injury? Of course. But if he was completely healthy he'd still be on Atlanta and he'd be making a lot more than 5.5 mil. I understand the argument about the one year deal for him to prove he's back from his injury, but if healthy, he's going to be expensive to resign. If not, then it was a wasted signing and the press will eat that up. Why I really like it is it gives us a chance to draft 1-2 CB's and develop them to eventually take over. Possibly the same plan at TE as well. Gives us a LOT of flexibility at the draft!!! While I've been hard on Ireland in the past, I do have to say he and the rest of the FO have done a great job so far this year!!

Yet the media, and probably yourself, will sing TB's praises if they trade a first, second and more for another QB, this one a me-first diva with a history of holding his team up for ransom, signing him for more than twice what Grimes will be making, and coincidentally also coming off an ACL injury, eh?

I multitask between the VIP forum, main forum, VIP chat, VIP ladies lounge, the lounge, PoFo, and internet porn searches just fine, thank you.

So now the Dolphins have Brent Grimes, Richard Marshall and Dimitri Patterson competing for a starting job. I still expect Miami to draft a cornerback early in the draft.

I also think this is great proof how people overreact during the free agency period in the NFL. People have been complaining and calling out the front office for ignoring the cornerback position because they didn't make a move in the first few weeks of the free agency period. One of these posters even said it was 80% certain that Miami screwed themselves at the position, even though free agency wasn't over and the draft hasn't happened. Now Miami has landed the top free agency cornerback on the market and still has the draft to go.

:woot:

Rotoworld (ie. Evan Silva) is roasting us again for overpaying. Ask bengals and Browns fans how they feel about all that cap space that they have left. :rolleyes2:

wow thats as stupid as silva can get , hey silva it dosent matter if cincy and the browns have 100 mil in cap space , it dosent do them a bit of good holding onto the cap money , thats not what wins you championships , what DOSE is managing your cap as you pick up the best players ava , at the right price , as i was told along time ago , you cant take it with you when you die..

Tremendous signing! Been a fan of Grimes the past few seasons. He definitely brings swagger to the secondary. Hopefully things heal up good and he can bring that ball hawking athleticism with him.

grimes hightlight reel on youtube looks like an xbox game, dude is a freakish talent, just hopes healthy

my favorite signing of offseason although very risky. One has to be a little skeptical that the falcons did not even want to give him this type of contract. I do like the way its structured and if he comes back and plays well its woth it and if not we have wasted about that much on much lesser players like Hicks. Hoefully we draft a top corner so we dont have a real weakness at the other corner. Both Marshall and patterson are better suited a nickebacks.

If they were to give him a similar contract to the one we gave him they would not be able to sign their draft picks this year.

Atlanta could have signed him over some of the other signings if they liked or created cap space. We outbid what they wabted to pay and thats what you have to do

this is the guy i wanted us to go get - love it! hope he's fully recoverd come the summer-time!
