Miami Dolphins have signed linebacker Josh Linam.
The 6-3, 237 pound linebacker joins Miami from the Chargers after being released on July 27, 2012. He originally was signed by San Diego on April 30, 2012, as an undrafted free agent from the University of Central Florida. He played in 50 career games in college, finishing with 165 tackles, three sacks, six pass breakups, three forced fumbles and three interceptions. Linam attended Tavares High School, where he earned four letters in football.

I wonder why no receiver? Guess they feel there are nobody left to bring in who will make a difference.

The only one left who would make a difference plays for PITTSBURGH, and would cost too much in many ways.

I imagine this is just for some depth at LB for rest of the preseason due to the injuries of Dansby & Burnett.

Some things I wrote about him in late February:

Josh Linam - Another guy that popped and pinged all over the field in Shrine practice. He caught my attention, constantly making TFLs or plays out in coverage. Surprised he's not getting more of a following. Worth taking him to camp to compete with Spitler.

I don't know if (Josh) Robinson is good or not but I have been pretty intrigued with Josh Linam.

2 reasons. First, they want to give our existing young guys the opportunity to step up. Secondly, there will be better receivers available when all the teams make the cut down to 53.
