DAVIE – The Dolphins, wasting no time in getting their draft picks into training camp on time this year, signed three more rookies Thursday, including third-round running back Lorenzo Booker.

They also signed their two remaining seventh-round picks, including punter Brandon Fields and linebacker Abraham Wright, a day after signing seventh-round linebacker Kelvin Smith. All four players were signed to four-year deals.

Nice, but until Ginn and Beck are under contract, nothing to get too excited about.

Cant wait to see what kind of player Booker is going to turn into.

He has that big play ability

Wouldn't it be a riot if Booker truned out to be better then Lynch?? He was out of HS.....much better!!

Actually, I think the Booker signing will help Mauia and Mormino.

Looks like the FO is determined to get these guys in on time. THAT would impress me.

Booker 4 year deal! I like the sounds of that he will be a good compliment to Ronnie Brown!

Got to thinking... it would seem having more picks (especially in each round) helps a team establish it's own pay scale quicker because each signing gives basis for the next. Where as we have been so shorted on picks before, we've had to wait on the market. Now, it would seem we're helping set it.

I suspect the Beck contract to be VERY incentive laiden based on performance. And I'm sure Ginn's will be VERY incentive laiden, as well... based on health.

Yea
but that out of high school can be quite a journey. Marcus Vick was the 8th rated player in the country coming out of high school and jamarcus Russel was in the seventies and out of college we know that story.

I don't know whether we are or not, but the idea has merit IMO. I doubt my thoughts would have gone that direction, I'm glad yours did. Interesting for sure.

Yeah well nothing's guaranteed, Booker was the number 1 rated RB in the nation coming out of HS, I think after the disappointing career at FSU he's got something to prove to the country, but more importantly to himself. That's gotta be a good thing for us. I will not stress him failing as a third rounder if that happens. I would think chances are slim he fails though. BTW,
Booker wasn't the only RB under utilized at FSU in the last 4 years.

It sure does look like a whole different world for the Dolphins since Cam and Randy took over. We'll see how it translates to wins....or not! But I gotta tell ya, between the players we released and the ones we've retained and brought in through FA and the draft, I like what I see.
