any updated news on Ashworth????

Hello all, was wondering if anyone heard any updates on Tom Ashworth? He would be a great addition to our line!!!

nope I haven't heard anything regarding his possible signing. He would be a good pick up though.

Jeff Darlington, of the Palm Beach Post, reports free agent OL Tom Ashworth (Patriots) will continue to seek other suitors as the Miami Dolphins have not pursued him since Wednesday, March 15. "There's plenty of talk, but not a deal," agent Tom Mills said about the Dolphins. "It'll probably be into Monday before we have something (with one of a number of teams.) The Dolphins have not been very aggressive, so I'm not sure they're a player."

OH WELL, maybe its for the best. I think it would be better to find a young guy in the draft for Houck to mold anyway.

I thought he was replacing Vernon Carey as our RT? Please refer to all my posts on how ashworth has been "overrrated"

yea he has no upside so they prob see somthign else in the draft maybe? or keep carey at RT and get a G? who knows but i doubt we go afer him now and i think we will fill MANY holes in FA right now with adams law and lavar so we can draft NEEDS that are BPA

Yeah I'm thinking that they are looking to the draft to fill the RT position. If Winston Justice is there at 16, you grab him. Another possibly is Whitworth who played for Saban at LSU. I think acquiring a RT and moving Carey to RG and Hadnot to C would be key for the line. Hadnot's concentration is not where it needs to be so if he's snapping the ball, that would significantly lessen the false starts. I don't think he had a single false start in his starts at C. Plus guard is Carey's natural position, and I think Houck would make a line of Shelton, James, Hadnot, Carey, and Justice/Whitworth into one of the best in the league.

We have already filled the RT position w/ Carey....He had a good year last year..

Ashworth was a swing LT / RT...for depth....

The idea that he is anything more than that is an illusion..
