The Dolphins will interview Denver Broncos running backs coach Bobby Turner this weekend for their offensive coordinator position, the Denver Post reported today.

Turner, 57, has established himself as one of the NFL's top position coaches since joining the Broncos in 1995, with Denver featuring a 1,000-yard running back in all but one of the past 12 seasons. His candidacy seemingly indicates new Dolphins coach Cam Cameron is now willing to split the team's offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coaching spots between two people, as Turner has no experience as a position coach working with quarterbacks.

Sounds promising. Muchas gracias primo.

this may mean we might actually run the ball this coming year.

ALELUYA!!! God has mercy!! GO DOLPHINS!!

Holy crap, just the thought of it made my day. Please let this happen. I'll even be the guy to tell Mularkey to warm up the jockstrap washer if this goes through.

This guy would make Ronnie Brown a pro bowler. Ronnie's only key problem has been dancing around after the hand off. In a Denver style of running, you simply cannot do that. If Turner were to teach Ronnie the 'one-cut and go' style that all the broncos RB's do so well, Ronnie could become one of the best RBs in the league easily.

would definitely be a great sign IMO...keeping fingers crossed

Consistent play from the O-line would help as well. CK has a great many posts on how Ronnie improves as the game goes on, as he becomes more accustomed to what the line and defense is giving him. Not that Turner wouldn't be a great thing, but we gotta get the line in shape in a bad, bad way.

Do you think we would go with a zone blocking running scheme?

And that would take TIME to adjust to for everyone involved. Might not see any significant jump in production right away if we do.
