Fasano has been doing a good job....but some weeks he just disappears.
I watch a lot of Mountain West Conference Games and BYU has a nice Tight End named Dennis Pitta, who has great hands. I think he could be available in the 4th round.....here is a clip of him on YouTube:

Tight end is definitely a need going into the off-season.

Personally like Hernadez from Florida.

Just to clarify, we waived Martin from the IR, thus giving him the opportunity to sign with another team now that he is (presumably) healthy.

I've been pushing for that guy on this board for months now. We can maybe get him late 5th and (imho) he is a Witten/Clark type receiving TE.

I thought they waived Martin right after he went on IR.

Can we re-sign him if nobody else does and can he play this year?

I think so...he will become and unrestricked free agent if nobody grabs him up, then we can sign him to a reduced salary. If he's healthy, I'd take him back for a few games to help us out...the guy was a good producer for us last year. :hi5:

I dont know the specifics of the rule, but I'm pretty sure that when a team releases a player from the IR, they cannot sign him for a certain period of time.

No, we can not re-sign him until after the league year, which is Mar 1st 2010. This move means that MIA is planning on drafting/signing/UPgrading the TE position in the offseason.

Because Fasano is a FA after this year and Haynos and Sperry are not Antonio Gates either. Even if they re-sign Fasano, we will need replacing Martin who was the athletic acrobat TE of the roster. I doubt they see Sperry as that guy. Unless they do...? Hmm.

That was my understanding as well. They reached an injury settlement from what I heard on Sirius. This is old news.

He was incorrectly reported as being waived back in early Sept. when, in reality, he was placed on IR.
