I really hope we re-sign him to a fair contract. I am sick and tired of going into EVERY offseason with OL as a high priority. VC is a good OL and we need him, IMO.
 
Yeah it would be great if that was one less position we need to fill this offseason.
 
Should have already been done. When you let a guy get this close to free agency it only increases the price. Especially when there is never much to choose from when it comes to good OT's.
 
I hope they can get a deal done. People have bagged on him a little, but I do think he is a very good Tackle. It would be nice to have him as a long term bookend with Long. Carey finally gets to be settled at RT after the past five years of bouncing from RG to RT to LT and then back to RT.

They are priorities IMO... The rest can stay albeit for the right price... Crowder isnt worth more than 3-3.5/year; Hill 2-2.5
 
I think this regime really likes Goody, I really do, but I wouldnt be shocked if he wasnt resigned.

1. He is on the wrong side of 30, and we need to get YOUNGER and more ATHLETIC in the secondary.

2. He has looked shaky at times throughout his career, including early this season. He suddenly turned it on, which is great, but will the real Goody please stand up?

3. Perhaps the biggest knock against him for Parcells and company... INJURIES. The guy has never been healthy. Always a shoulder here, a knee there, an ankle...

All in all, I would feel comfortable replacing Goody with Bryant McFadden of the Steelers, one of my favorite potential UFAs. Young. Good size. Great experience (2 super bowls). Played on a terrific defense.

Not that I dont like Goody, I do, I'm just not sure I'm... "Sold" on him. I wouldnt give him a long-term deal. No sir.

Looks like Parcells pool boy's, best friends, brother is letting inside info slip again.

I think its the same one that brought us classics like "Beck will be released during final wave of cuts" and who can forget the classic "Terry Glenn likely headed toward Miami."

I thought you were referring to Woody, as in Damien Woody... I almost ****.... although im not sold, but i think id rather jettison Allen than Goodman
 
But Allen is not a UFA. Let him compete in camp, at the least. Or trade him to a Tampa-2 team for a 6th round pick so he can become the "shutdown" CB that many people believe he can be in that system.

As for Goody vs. Woody, can you imagine Damien Woody running around in the secondary? No wonder Parcells feels we need to get more athletic back there! :)

Tampa - A source told the Sun Sentinel that the Dolphins are definitely interested in re-signing free-agent tackle Vernon Carey. Free agency doesn't start until Feb. 27, so negotiations will probably heat up during the week of the NFL Scouting Combine (Feb. 24).

"The Dolphins want Carey back and they will continue to bolster their offensive line," the source said.

The same probably can't be said for free-agent linebacker Channing Crowder, who was lowballed by the team's first offer.
