Has anyone noticed that our defense was one of the tops in the NFL this year? The DC for the Dolphins is Don Capers who has NFL experience and is as proven as anybody else that can be thrown into the ring.

He is here in Miami, I am assuming available and probably knows where the bodies are buried so he can fix it quickly. How come he is not being considered for the position?

He keeps doing what he is doing on D, gets a competent offensive guy, with some much deserved good luck next year...maybe we make some positive noise.

I say let's look in-house first and see what we got - Don Capers.

For the love of GOD his first name is DOM and no.

Yes.

If Saban is gone, and Bill Cowher isn't a candidate, I say Capers. The reason why is because he's classy, did a great job in Carolina and made our defense look better than it is. However, he'll need to work on our O line or he'll have Houston in Miami all over again.

Dom Capers (should he want the job) I would think would be the leading candidate but Im sure players would have a say in this. Do they like him as HC? Not sure. Might help in bringing JT around.

If Saban leaves, I want someone to come in from the outside. First of all, I want a strong GM type, like Mueller, and let him hire the next head coach. Give the power to Mueller on the personnel side. No more giving the next coach total control of everything.

He didn't do a great job in Carolina, he had a team full of good vets in year 2 and they went to the title game but they got old and his coaching career went downhill from there. He's a 2 time failure- do you want to see him make it 3?

The team was hit with some major injuries and off field problems. Yes, they went downhill, but you can't put all the success on their Vets. Capers is a great defensive coach that has had miserable offensive talent. Like I said, if he can secure the O line, I think he'd be fine here.

He's a top DC but i don't believe he's a good HC. From that 12-4 season(his only winning season as a HC) the Panthers went down to 7 wins then 4 wins then in Houston he was progressing going from 4 wins to 5 to 7 but then the bottom fell out and they won 2 games last year. The guy's career record is 48-80. I wouldn't want him to be my HC, I remember he interviewed for the Jets job after Groh stepped down and I didn't want him then either. Take a chance on an up and coming guy like we did.

I think he is going to get the job if Nick leaves

But I don't think its the right direction
