Profootballtalk.com reports the Patriots have informed Donte' Stallworth that they will not pay his $6 million option bonus on February 25.

He'll become a free agent. This makes it slightly more likely that Randy Moss will be franchised, although Stallworth was never going to get the bonus anyways. Stallworth drew strong interest from the Titans last offseason and still have a big need at wideout.

Stallworth has never shown he can be anything beyond a #2 WR. He's never broken 1000 yards for a season. I say let someone else break the bank on the paycheck he's trying to collect.

No thanks...He's a hamstring tear waiting to happen.

Oh wait let's pay dude top dollar to be subpar... um... I'll go with a proven guy like Ocho Cinco or a hungry rookie thank youuu

wouldn't be opposed to stallworth. He's not a bad player, and we could certainly use some more talent at WR.

Stallworth was overlooked this past year because of the emergence of Welker and Randy Moss, but he was a very good WR when in Philly.

Anyone looks good on the Patriots with the talent on the team. Welker is nothing more than a sure-handed slot reciever. Of course he was going to "emerge" on the Patriots, every team was spending their entire time double covering Moss and trying to pressure the QB at once.

If you reacall the Patriot games many of them were won because they were running Welker on a short slant route in the center everytime.

I used to like Welker, but he's not the glorious reciever he's made out to be.

As for Stallworth, last year there was talk of Stallworth and Washington, both NE tried gobbling up.

Stallworth can stay on the free agency market, he has no space in Miami. He's nothing but a #2 WR. Sure, he's fast, but we have a much younger Ted Ginn who doesn't hang out at the hospital.
