First, I highly doubt we will have the # 1 pick. Anyway, the O-line has been so bad that I would draft the OT Alex Barron from Florida State (although I may be partial because FSU is my favorite college team).

This question leaves way too much room for speculation. If the line plays better late in the season, and AJ comes along, and Gordon just cant cut it I want "The Caddy". If Feeley cant cut the mustard I want Leinart. If all three pan out OL, Feeley, and Gordon then you go DT as we are getting OLD there!!

as it stands now, we may have a top 3 or top 5 pick. i would like to see us trade back 7 to 10 spots total, possibly making 2 trades to do this and add some more quality draft picks on the first day. dt would rank very high on needs. rb,cb,qb an oline would be obvious choices as well depending on gordon, surtain, feeley and the oline as a whole.

I would get either Leinart/Aaron Rodgers, Cedric Benson, or maybe as a WR, Mike Williams. That guy is huge, and fast. He could be like Moss or something. But still, he will have been out of football for a year, but I'm sure he will still have the skills necessary to play.

Seriously, Stop thinking in terms of position and start looking for the best available athlete at the position in the draft for which you are awarded. If its a tight end (a position for which you are stoked) then so be it.

PRAY! you get a new head coach, then pray he tailors the offense around his players strengths. and dosen't force those players to work in a system thats no good for them.

Winston and Brown are the top lineman.

Leinart at QB or Benson/Cadillac at RB.

Or we admit we are rebuilding, let Sam go, trade Surtain and get Antrell Rolle

Madison: high cap number and declining skills. conditonal pick but not likely to be a day one, more likely a 4th at best (1st thru 3rd)

Surtain: looking for big pay day and has some injury concerns (Re: knee). If Surtain agrees to a cap friendly deal, might as well keep him, but a new team should give up a quality player and day one pick

Z. Thomas: cap ramifications prevent trading

Seau: age and decling skills leads to little return....late conditional

Knight: UFA after season, not likely to get much more than a late pick

Freeman: $3 million salary in 2005. Has yet to prove he's starting material....late conditional pick

Feeley: he's your problem for a couple of seasons....at least

Fiedler: conditional pick that depends on another teams QB'ing situation
