According to Adam Schefter of NFL Network and our friends at WIP radio in Philly, TAKEO Spikes have been cut.

TKO Released from Philly

Great LB. Played Will in a 4-3 defesne. Would be a good fit to play OLB in a 3-4 but we need MLB and don't think he will effective there.

Be interesing to see where he lands.

I really didn't like Takeo at all when he played for buffalo since he always terrorized the Phins.

Ever since he's torn his achilles he hasn't been the same. He's a great player before his injuries...didn't he tear his rotator cuff last season. Don't think he's worth the $$$ now.

Well, I wouldn;t mind bringing him in. He's got the size (not sure he has the speed anymore), but it could be an upgrade over what we currently have.

Why could he not fit inside? Just curious. He has the size. I think its worth a look.

Early 30s I think. Maybe 31. I would love to have him here for sure!!

He hasnt been the same since his injury. Im sure he can still play, just not at a probowl level.

If hes willing to take less money somewhere he would be ok, but former probowlers dont like taking pay cuts.

He'll probably end up in NE where he will stive. thus ****ing the entire AFC east again.

Takeo Spikes???

I know he is a 10 year vet...but he is big 6-2 242 lbs...typical Parcells guy with the nasty on field presense...if he isnt wantin big money, could we possible sign him??? thoughts?

They couldn't afford to pay him with his injury issues. That being said, thanks to his injury issues he's a serious liability now. We'd be just as well off signing Arrington.

Takeo Spikes released by Philly.

I apologize if this has already been posted. I just got off work and saw the Eagles released the "Great Warrior" Spikes. Takeo is 31 and has had a few injury problems the last 2 years I believe. Personally though, I think he is a force in the middle of a LB core. Being released with no strings attached to a trade, thoughts on making a run at him to solidify the absence of #54? Takeo missed the final two games last year due to injuries (as the espn article reports), but he still managed to attain 139 tackles. Not too shabby fellas. At the very least, a decent 2-3 year pickup.

def agree.. id take him if the price is not to much... just wondering if he would fit in our rebuilding process... hes def a playmaker, but is he a ILB?

He is a player, but a bit small for Parcells. He is only listed at 242. I love the guy and being close to Philly, it was fun to watch him every weekend. It just seems that this new crew wants some really big LBs.
