What an idiot:

I'm bummed Favre didn't grow a pair this offseason and tell the Packers he wanted to be traded to the Dolphins. Favre, 36, still can play football at a high level.
5. Joey Harrington is going to beat out Daunte Culpepper by midseason.
I've never been a Daunte fan. Never. I was irate when the Vikings drafted him just months after Jeff George had a great season. But it's deeper than my allegiance to George.
Daunte is not a student of the game. He doesn't read defenses. He's going to get exposed in Miami because his mobility is gone and he's going to be forced to stand in the pocket and make reads. It won't be pretty.

The poll is for who you feel will struggle the most while coming back from a major injury. If you vote for Daunte, you're saying you think he'll struggle the most.

sorry i didnt read it well then..

vote for bress or palmer then

thta guy is carzy

I am a UCF grad, followed Daunte and watched his play closely over the years....Whitlock is not crazy. Daunte will be an upgrade...but his strength is not reading Defenses. He has the arm to make all the throws and his mobility before his injury made him a threat at all times. Daunte may well be in a situation that is a great fit for him. He is/will be at his best when he can go down progressions and make the throw in short drops 3/5 steps and trust the offensive scheme...when he is asked to read defenses on routes that take longer to develope he is average and makes some questionable decisions. Of course when he can scramble around and throw deep when a reciever has time to get seperation he is at his best. IMHO C-pep will have problems with defenses that take away the short game and play 2 deep zone (man-man under, and deep zone), complex Defenses will give him troubles such as the Pat's, Panthers, Broncos, and Steelers. He will be at his best against primarily man up defenses that like to blitz IMO such as Bills, Packers, and Jets.

Harrington is much the same type player that get confused when asked to read and react. He is also at his best when the scheme is trusted and he is not asked to drop 7 and read where to go, but rather go down his progressions and make a throw rather quickly.

IMHO this offense while not "west coast" will be at it's best when facing man-man and on 12-15 yard routes with a 5 step drop. On short 3 step drops Booker lacks some seperation, Chambers is always a threat and the slot guy is generally a short option....and C-pep has the arm to fit the ball in some tight spaces.

Good god. Did he really just say, "my allegiance to (Jeff) George"?

The guy didn't even spell his name correctly, How can you have an "allegiance" to someone and you don't even know their name?? Seems to me he just hates Daunte, and that's fine, but don't make stupid excuses as to why you hate someone.

Who's name was misspelled?

Has anyone thought to point out that Jeff George was an Oakland Raider in 1998 and first came to the Minnesota Vikings in 1999 the same year that Daunte was drafted?

Randall Cunningham had that MVP caliber year in 1998, Randy Moss' rookie season (the year in which the Vikings set NFL records for most offense), and it was a few months after THAT when Denny Green pulled the trigger on Daunte Culpepper in the draft.

Jeff George came in for a struggling Randall Cunningham in 1999, while Daunte sat the bench as a rookie and watched.

Next year, George demanded a HUGE payday after having success in place of Cunningham. The team said no, and toyed with the idea of signing Dan Marino to continue holding the reins while Daunte learned.

In the end they decided to hand the reins to Daunte, who promptly achieved a better QB rating in the year 2000 than the one George achieved in 1999.

So, in answer to Spurzn703, yes Whitlock is an idiot.
