A little to mull over on a slow Dolphin news day:

http://www.miamiherald.com/616/story/386331.html

As far as the Ricky story, what do they expect him to say, " Well they're shoppin me for a bag of Cool Ranch Doritos." At this point of course they want him to stay close and out of trouble so they can keep an eye on him and try to get anything for him even if it's the "Mr. Irrellivant" pick in the draft.

Ricky will be here for next season. He is worth far more to us then what we would get for a trade. I don't know why people keep saying that we want to show case him. Parcells signed him for a reason. Ricky will be the man next year unless Ronnie is 100 percent!

Parcells isn't going to let Ricky make him look foolish like the rest of his predecessors. Send that University of Texas trash back home to Dallas so he can play with Tank Williams, and possibly Pacman.

The thing about Rickey is "if" we take what Tuna and Sparano said about "Everyone is starting with a clean slate" at face value, then there is no reason why Rickey wouldn't be a Dolphin this season.

Like it or not, Ronnie has never played a 16 game season for us, we need a top quality back up and RW could easily fit that role for us.

mayock should watch our games before he says we need a CB

our d-line is awful, our linebackers are woeful, we need a TE in the worst way

Will Allen was our best defensive player

it would be great if a LT falls to the top of the 2nd round

I still believe they will trade him, but if he's around, he will help us. He is a good player and he and Ronnie in the backfield is a great tandem.

imo ricky will be on this team till atleast weeks4-6. some back usually gets injured and his value will go up much more during that time than it will ever be. last year it was tampa bay.

You're not seriously suggesting that the Dolphins are counting on Ricky in case Ronnie isn't 100%, are you. If it's one thing that we know for a fact about Ricky, it's that he cannot be counted on. How many times does he have to prove it? If he's here and in shape, he can probably help us to a limited extent. But He'll never "be the man" anywhere, anytime.

The last shot I saw of Ricky was him heading to the locker room at Pitt. Someone commented at the bar, "that dude is a football warrior". They weren't Dolphin fans, so they didn't act like Ricky had stole their girlfriend.

I would try to pick up a legitimate free agent running back, or a fourth rounder in the draft, because Ricky has been useful by name only. The last year he did anything was 2004, and he cost the Dolphins a first round pick to boot.

we do not know what ricky is capable of at this point. he has been away from the NFL for a good amount of time

but he is very cheap, and in the past was a monster. worth keeping around.

2 First Rounders!
