MERGED:Herm out?/Jets cancel press conference

Are you kidding me? They've got cash. They'll go sign one of the better head coaching candidates. I'd never trade Saban away, but Herm isn't that great of a coach. A 3/4? That's a good deal for the Jets...

Herm is a much better coach than you give him credit for. Considering where KC is picking, they should be giving up a 1st or a 2/3 IMO. I'm very happy that the Jets won't get that however.

It is illegal for a team to give up draft picks for a coach... After the Jon Gruden Tampa/Oakland trade... I'm pretty sure it is illegal!

It was believed that for quite a while, but it came out earlier that it wasn't a rule put in place by the NFL but rather a suggestion. It is still very much possible to trade your coach.

From my understanding, it's illegal to use draft picks to acquire coaches under the rank of Head Coach.

Unless things suddenly change for the different, he'll be coming here to KC but I don't see his D coordinator following him. I think he'll keep our current Defensive Coordinator (Gunther Cunningham) since he already knows him from back when Dungy and Edwards worked for the Chiefs in the 90's.

Dungy used to look like such a nerd. :sidelol:

Look where our old buddy is headed

Herman Edwards looks to be the new HC of the KC Cheifs. His replacement is reportedly going to be Ex HC from the NO Saints, Jim Hasslet. I never knew you could TRADE your head coach  The Jets want a 2nd for him.

Heres the link

Ps. I know this is not directly Miami Dolphins related but i thought hey...its the offseason and news is news :goof:

thats good news for us haslet isn't a good coach.
not a good drafter, they will pick a dt with there 1st pick

 I figured he wouldnt be an upgrade over Herm. I actually think he is a good coach and he will do well in KC

Leave it tp the Jets to replace their 4-12 coach with a 3-13 coach. Any confirmation of Haslett taking over though? Other than this article?

Yeah, it is news and there's a proper forum for it and you know that. Do it again and you'll get time off.

All this means is we dont have to worry about KC next year and still dont have to worry about the jets.
